| I was glad I had this! |
| By Paul (Hyattsville, MD) |
I got my machine at the insistence of my wife. I have found it to be a godsend for getting the snow out of the way, and it allows me to even help my neighbors with their snow.
In the Mid-Atlantic we had two back-to-back monsters that set all kinds of records. I was glad I had it.
As for as the shear bolts that I ordered after I broke the second one, I realized that the special shear bolt is absolutely essential for these machines.
If you have shear bolts on your machine order lots of extras, and never use anything else as a replacement. If you try using something else you will do so at your peril. |

| Affordable snowblower |
| By Alfredo (Fairview, NC) |
Well, I live on a hill which is impossible to drive when covered with snow. Since here in Fairview, NC it does not snow very often, and not a lot, I did not need anything sophisticated orvery powerful, but something affordable and good.
The Ariens 920006 has done a very good job. With lots of branches falling from the trees, and not being able to see them, the shear bolt broke 5 times. Hey, snowblowers are designed to blow snow and not tree branches.
But that's what shear bolts are designed for: to save the gears and belts from breaking. All you have to do is replace them- a 1 minute job with the proper tools, if that long.
I am satisfied and would recommend it if you do not have a lot a snow to blow and want an affordable snowblower.
As far as blowing lots and lots of snow I cannot tell because all I have here in 12" to 14" of snow when it snows.... |

| Ariens Prosumer ST27LE (27") 249cc Two-Stage Snow Blower |
| By RC (Doyletown, PA) |
This is my first snowblower purchase, and I'm totally happy with the operation of this snowblower.
Awesome performance during our recent blizzard of about 22" of drifting snow. Worked beautifully and even tackled the icy pile of snow at the front of the driveway caused by the city plows.
Only recommendation would be for optional snow chains (have to contact Ariens directly for that). SnowBlowers Direct delivered on time and at a great price.
Just ordered my Zero Turn mower from their MowersDirect.com site. |

| Great Customer Service |
| By Patrick Smith (Conway, NH) |
I knew I needed to order shear bolts but the part number I had was different from the part number on your site.
I emailed Customer Service and received a response within minutes. I ordered the parts and they were shipped out that day!
You can not beat that kind of support and without a doubt if I have other snow blower needs Snow Blowers Direct.com will be the first thing that comes to mind. |

| How Shear Pins Protect Your Snow Blower |
| By Jon Hoch, Founder (Bolingbrook, IL) |
You’re half way finished snow blowing your driveway and clunk… you hit a rock.
Your snow blower engine is still running at full speed, but the auger is jammed.
Here's the good news: Your machine was designed to handle this situation.
Here's the bad news: You’re going to need a shear bolt or two.
What is a shear bolt?
Typically, two shear bolts (or shear pins) connect the auger to the auger shaft.
They feature specially designed grooves, allowing them to snap if there’s too much torque. This prevents damage to the gear case and auger shaft.
If two-stage snow blowers weren’t built with shear pins, a snow-covered newspaper or a curb could cause hundreds of dollars in damage instead of a few bucks.
There are a few different sizes of shear bolts. The brass ¼” shear bolts are the most common and used on the smaller consumer-grade snow blowers. The black 5/16” shear bolts are used on larger prosumer- and professional-grade snow blowers.
It’s a good idea to have a few spare shear bolts on hand. Otherwise, prepare to finish the job with a shovel. |
