Amazing
I live in Montreal, Quebec, Canada where there is light and wet snow conditions and I can tell you that my blower in the heaviest snow does not even hesitate to blow the snow. It saves my back in the heaviest snow!

Fuel and a spare spark plug are all I've needed since 2009. Gr8 machine.

Ariens Snothrower
I bought the sno-jet non-stick spray to try and improve my snow-thrower that I have never been completely happy with and I hope to improve it but we haven't had any significant snow here in the north east to test it out the spray so I really can't comment on it maybe later in the winter I will. It's the heavy wet snow I bought it for. If things don't improve I will be looking to replace this machine with another snow-thrower.

Works Well When It Works
I have enjoyed the Ariens model I purchased several years ago but have had to replace the gears in the auger twice now within the last three years. There are made of brass and do not hold up to any stress.

Other than that, I have had great use of it!

Steve
This year I have to keep the snow blower outside. The cover is a good weight and sturdy, and relatively easy to put on and take off.

I was concerned about how it would stay on because I was not impressed with the tie downs, but it has not blown off.

Add To The Story Of The Meltbuddy
THANK YOU DAN ARIENS.

In the Meltbuddy you accomplished two things at once: 1 - you gave owners of Ariens snowblowers a practical option for their blowers to accomplish a necessary task.

As the owner of an old but faithful Ariens snowblower (I'm not even sure, but I'm betting the unit is at LEAST 20 years old) here is something I can retrofit to my unit to speed up my work.

2 - you ensured that the young men who invented the product are compensated for their great work rather... more

What A Deal
After 6 years I fried my Toro Commander single-stage snow blower. We had 2 separate snow storms come through with terrible drifting after the second snow.

In all there was 10-14 inches of snow with drifts 3-8 feet high. The single stage just couldn't take it any more - I do anywhere from 5-13 driveways and sidewalks, so the Toro has gotten a work out for the past 6 years.

I found a deal on this Ariens 824E. I took it out and hit the snow drifts and city-plowed snow - NO PROBLEMS AT ALL. more

Ariens Prosumer Two-stage (24") 8-hp Snow Blower Review
I have owned a few other brands and horsepowers of snowblowers before.

The last eight horse that I had pales in comparison to what this machine can do.

It plows through the snow with no problem, even the plow snow.

I totally think this is worth the money. This is the last snowblower that I will have to buy.

Wouldn't Buy Anything But An Ariens
My Dad had many snow blowers and problems with them until he got his first Ariens.
He has had it for 20 years doing all the sidewalks at the end of the street. First one lasted for about 20 years.
Then the neighbors all replaced it for him and the neighbors share the labor for him.
When he sold the house the snow blower was a street fixture and was sold with the house.

I waited to be able to purchase my Ariens. I am happy to say its 28 years old and I can say its treated me great, Now... more

Old Snow Blower
I bought my ST824 back in 1986. It has been a great machine but was showing signs of age.

I had to replace the auger shaft bearing so while it was all apart I took off all the peeling paint and rust and I brought it back to life. I also rebuilt the carb. and used the Ariens brand orange paint to make it look and run like new.

It is good for another twenty years.
