4 Questions
Q: What is the difference between the 2010 and 2011 model besides the price by Ralph from Pennsylvania on August 29, 2011
A: Ralph - the differences are mainly cosmetic. The 2011 model has a re-designed dash panel and the engine housing is re-designed as well. The 2011 model also has a steel and polymer discharge chute, while the discharge chute on the 2010 model is 100% polymer. Performance wise, they are the same machines. by Kriss, Product Expert
Q: Hi...I am thinking about buying the Sno-Tek 28 2010 model. How much assembly is required for once it is received? by Tom Stell from New Jersey on August 27, 2011
A: Tom - the Ariens Sno-Tek 28" snow blower is shipped mostly assembled. You would need to fold up the upper handle assembly and tighten up the 4 bolts that hold the upper handle in place. You will need to assemble and attach the discharge chute to the auger housing. And you will need to attach the discharge chute control rod to the discharge chute and to the upper handle assembly. by Kriss, Product Expert
Q: what does 208cc equate to in hp? by Peter from New York on August 17, 2011
A: Peter - small engine manufacturer's no longer designate a horsepower rating on their engines, but a 208cc engine would equate to roughly 7hp. by Kriss, Product Expert
Q: Is the ariens sno-tek 28" 208cc Two stage snow blower (model 2010 model electric start by Anthony from New York on July 29, 2011

Wish I fixed my old one!
Worked ok for one storm. Started skipping and jerking on two inches of snow and throwing no snow. Checked and a shear pin was broken. Blades won't move so I can't replace it, wonder if the gearbox is broken. Great, due for 6 more inches tomorrow. My MTD never broke a shear pin in 7 years! All and all a low quality machine.

Great experience!!
I never thought I would be buying a snowblower online, but the experience was fantastic. The ordering process was easy, and the speed of receiving the snowblower was great, I do recommend the gate lift service for delivery. The set up took less then 15 minutes and started on 2nd pull, cant wait to use it once the snow flies.
I would buy again from Snow Blowers Direct.

Ariens Snow Blower
Very happy with the size of the snow blower. The controls look easy to use. I have had Ariens snow blowers in my family since I have been a child and they have been very dependable machines. I would never think of purchasing another brand. Can't wait to use it this winter.

Great Snow Blower!
I purchased this snow blower from SBD in August (before the snow starts to fall) and it arrived about 2 weeks later. I did a quick assembly, checked the oil and fired it up. Started on 4th pull and runs very smoothly. I have tested the auger and the drive train (all 6 fwd and 2 rv) an it works great. Looking forward to the first snowfall of the season.

Great Customer Service
I recently purchased the Ariens Sno-Tek 28". The order shipped right away, arrived in great condition with one minor problem. It had a flat tire. It wound up having a deep cut on the bead where the tire meets the rim.
I called customer service and spoke with James. I explained the problem, he requested a photo and serial number. The next day, I received an e-mail from James stating they were going to send another tire-rim. Sure enough, a few days later I had a replacement tire-rim.
Simply put, Snow Blowers Direct stands behind its product and its customer service reps know what customer service is.

Best Value Under $1000
Solid machine with basic features. Ariens chute direction crank is excellent. Moves snow well. Best thing short of an Ariens Deluxe 28".

Very Very Nice Skid Shoes
Just bought a new snowblower and decided to try the Roller skids out due to my "New snowblower" dragging along the concrete and then grabbing as it hit bare pavement... I have to admit these things are sweeeeeeet!
They bolted on in seconds with instructions on how to properly set the height. In less than 5 minutes I was kicking along. I even did two of my neighbors driveways...
