Q: Hi Can you explain the real world diff between the Platnium and deluxe drive systems?? I am looking at the deluxe 30" and the Plat 24" models. by Dave from Wisconsin on November 11, 2011
A: The difference is going to come down to options. The Platinum models are going to have remote chute control, which the Deluxe models don't have as well as the auto traction drive, this is going to allow you to turn on a dime in either direction. The Deluxe models will have a lock out trigger on your left side and this will help in making turns, but it is still not as easy as the auto traction drive. Other than this all other features would be alike if we are comparing the Deluxe 30" and a Platinum model. Obviously you can find variations in engine size, but all other features would be alike. by Kriss, Product Expert
Q: Kriss, the impeller size on this snowblower (ST30LE (30)) is 12 or 14 inches diameter? the specs say 14 but the picture details says 12 inch. plz confirm.. thx Bernardo by Bernardo from Connecticut on July 13, 2011
A: This is a 14" impeller. Ariens is only going to put the 12" impeller on the Compact models.
Q: Hi Kriss, Will you be selling the Husqvarna 16530EXL snow blower for next winter? Also sometimes, why do I see that model with a "s" or an "sb" in the model number? I know you will probably direct me to another brand, but, I really like the Husky hydro drive over the friction-wheel drive. John by John from New Jersey on April 06, 2011
A: John,
The Husqvarna 16530EXL is a model not allowed to be sold online. As of right now, we are not sure what our Husqvarna lineup will be for this next season.
As of right now, I would say we most likely won't be offering this model next season unless Husqvarna changes some of their policies.
I would like to tell you the "s" and the "sb" signifies an engine or something in particular, but as far as I can tell and know, this would be an internal way for Husqvarna to designate one model series from another. It would most likely be something similar to their mowers in the "YTH" and "LGT", which means yard tractor husqvarna and lawn garden tractor.
The Ariens Deluxe ST30LE two-stage snow blower has been designed to handle the toughest winters mother nature can dish out!
The Ariens Deluxe ST30LE is powered by an Ariens Polar Force engine (made by Briggs & Stratton) that is specifically designed to handle tough winter conditions. The engine offers a primer bulb for quick starts and a large muffler for quiet running performance. And the electric start system will save your back from pulling on the starter rope -- just plug it in, press a button and you're off!
The Ariens Deluxe ST30LE is also one of the least expensive models we sell that comes with the highly sought after hand warmer feature as standard equipment. The hand grips will actually heat up to keep your hands warm no matter how bad the conditions are outside.
The Ariens Deluxe ST30LE two-stage snow blower is powerful enough for the most serious snow, and loaded with standard features not found on comparably priced models. If you live in an area where harsh wintery conditions are the norm, this snow blower is a great choice to help clean up after mother nature delivers her worst!

My Problem With My Ariens 2-stage
When I purchased it I was told it would not pick up gravel, as my driveway is gravel and compacted pretty darn good. First time I was able to use it was this year and to my surprise I do have it adjusted as high as it will go but still picked up stone and went into my yard and now I have another mess too clean up when weather allows me to do so but I do think it would work for me if it wasn't for that.

The blower works great with the exception of being a little slow when blowing light snow falls. I run the blower in high speed almost all the time (my sons older Ariens is much faster in high gear). The blower lock and chute direction crank should be on opposite sides instead of on the same side and having to reach over awkwardly to turn the chute. Lots of power though and takes a lot to make it work.

Snow Country
We live in the Upstate New York area that frequently experiences heavy "lake affect snow". I had an older popular brand snow blower that has been nothing but trouble in the past few years. I decided to do some research and spend the money on something that would be dependable, easy to operate, and go through the snow that we typically get up here on a regular basis. My driveway is very large, with a wide surface area that holds the heat in early winter. This causes the snow to melt into a slushy mixture in the lower layers. I needed the power to throw the wet snow some distance and this unit does the job!! It also cuts 30" wide swaths through the snow with ease, taking less time overall for me to do the driveway.
I bought it in early December and have used it over a dozen times. Each time it started on the first pull. I have electric start, but so far have not needed it.
Great unit at a good price!

Great Product And Service
I recently purchased the Ariens ST30LE after my old snow blower died during the last blizzard. I looked around and finally settled on Snow Blowers Direct. The entire process from ordering to delivery was outstanding and Snow Blowers Direct was a pleasure to deal with. I would definitely recommend them to all my friends.
As for the Ariens snowblower, it was delivered in a timely manner and set up took me about 30 minutes just follow the directions. Shortly after setting it up we recieved a snow storm that dumped about 8" of heavy wet snow. The Ariens went through it without any issues. I also did three other yards with it in about the time it usually took me to do my yard with my old machine. I can't wait for the next snow storm this machine rocks.

Ariens Snow Blower
We purchased this snow blower right after our last snow storm when our old snow blower died. We are extremely happy with this snow blower. It cut our snow cleaning time in half, great machine much quieter than our old one, I would highly recommend this machine to anyone with a longer driveway like we have. Wonderful online shopping experience.

Great So Far
I ordered this blower to replace a Craftsman 29", 9 horse blower. Could not believe the difference in the size and weight, this unit seems to be built to last, no cheap plastic parts. The delivery was right on schedule, however the box was damaged and the top heat shield was bent. I checked for other damage and found none, so I accepted the blower. Repaired the heat shield and assembled the unit, started it up and it seems to run fine. Waiting for the next snowfall to see how it performs.

Not That Great, Took It Back...bought A 1330se Deere
Used it once, the remote locker doesn't really work, mainly allows you to unlock the axle to push it around the garage, not usefull during operation. If you must have an Ariens get the platinum or pro. I found a 2011 left over 1330SE at a dealership brand new. It is awesome, same engine as this snowblower, plenty of power, just threw 6" of slushy snow as far as the Ariens did when i had it. The electric chute is awesome. You never have to move your hands, just make your turn, the easy steer work great and even better in reverse, adjust the chute and deflector, drop the bucket back down and your off. Very smooth, elminates many stops to adjust the chute. I know they quit making the Deeres in 2011, there are still some left overs in Michigan due to the lack of snow the past few years. But Briggs and Straton are still making them, just painted gray. Highly recommed the electronic chute controls, they may have a risk of failure, but I wouldn't want you to take away power locks and windows on a car either.

February Snow Storm
What a nice snow blower. The drive at first was a little quirky, but after 3 storms it seems to be settling in. 1 foot of snow does not seem to be a challenge and it does throw close to 50 feet, with a light powder snow. This snow blower is very quiet compared to my others and my neighbors. It also arrived in perfect condition.

Second Review
A week and a half ago I blew our latest 8" of snow. I had two witnesses to this. I started at 9:45 A.M. and finished at 12:30 P.M.--2 hours and 45 minutes at full throttle stopping and idleing for about 30 seconds to brush snow off only once and in the 3.2 quart fuel tank I put in 1 quart and 5 oz. of gas to refill. In the same terrain with my old 10 horse JD it took, just lacking 1 full gallon to fill the tank. With the power of this unit and running that steady and the work it did I think that is amazing enough to do another review. Love this beasty!!! My place is all gravel with uphill and downhill and lots of paths and backing up.

Very Disappointed
I live in Oswego, NY,and I have owned 3 Ariens snow blowers over the last 44 years. We get a lot of lake effect snow in any given year. The first 2 machines were very satisfactory. Those machines were 24 inch width.
My new machine is an upgraded 30 inch deluxe. It has good power, and accessories. My problem is that the machine is very difficult to steer and handle.
It is very heavy in the front end (unbalanced compared to my 24 inch). I am a 200 pound guy, and find it very difficult to lift the blower end by pushing down on the handles
The tractor assembly that supplies power to the 30 inch blower assembly, is basically the same width as the 24 inch model. The tires are smaller in diameter making my machine hard to handle
.
I think this is a design flaw, probably driven by manufacturing costs. The 30 inch model is not easy to use.

Assembled it with no problem but at first use it didn't drive on the left wheel. It makes the blower pull and have bad drive traction. Working with Ariens to try and address the issue.

Monster Machine
I finally got fed up with my 5 year old Craftsman dieing mid-blow for the last time. After borrowing the neighbor's machine to finish the job, I came in and in about 1 minute found this machine at your site. Since I had looked at these earlier at the state fair last fall, it was an easy decision and one, which I won't regret. It arrived super quick, the free shipping was awesome, and after assembling the machine I gave it a test run. The first thing I noticed was how QUIET it was. I seriously could run this in the middle of the night without waking up the baby next door. The next thing I noticed was how well balanced it was. While being larger in width and weight than the red beast, it handled much easier, and the heated grips are a great feature I thought I wouldn't care about but now am very happy I got. I know this will be the last blower I have to buy and would HIGHLY recommend this brand to anyone who asks.
If I could rate this machine "great" I would. Super machine, super seller, lightning fast FREE shipping, rock bottom pricing....
What more can I say.. I'll be back here when I replace my lawn mower..

31 years ago I got my first snow blower, a 24" Ariens. It lasted 13 years before the cylinder wall blew out--("splash oiling") I would guess. You folks shipped like the reviews I read in spite of my ordering on a Saturday before Xmas and with all the holidays and trucking days off I received it 2 weeks later.
The driver brought it on a Saturday morning at 8:15 AM and helped me unload. 40 minutes later I was trying it out, in fact I got to try it out 4 days in a row here in the mountains of south central Idaho. Like a few of the reviews I read it is a beautiful "BEAST"!!! For the record, yesterday morning it was minus 18 degrees and just to see if the ads meant anything I pushed the primer 3 times and one pull and a flawless start! This is my 4th blower with 2 John Deere's after the first Ariens and there is no comparison to the Ariens and all the rest of the "tin" things out there. Yes I am very happy with my purchase and very happy with PED.
Will do business again with them for sure!

I purchased the ST30LE before Thanksgiving of 2012. There had been no significant snowfall until Euclid slid through.
This machine had no trouble with 14 inches of snow on an unpaved driveway that is 700 feet long. Four passes (2 up and 2 down ) and the job was done.
Originally I had scoffed at the heated hand warmers, however I find them to be a nice feature. Machine starts up easy and runs strong. I am definitely well pleased with this purchase.
As a matter of fact ..santa brought me a power washer from PED.

Very Nice Snowblower, Haven't Tried It Yet Tho.
Good price on snow blower, came in packaged well. No visible damage. The lift gate service is worth it unless you have several able bodied people available. Assembling was not too bad, checked for oil in crankcase and started up with the pull start.
Started easily but after running for 30 sec heard a noise. Pull rope fell right out of assembly. Now I have to take to warranty dealer and they don't like it when you buy a unit elsewhere and then try to get warranty service from them, so that is an inconvenience. The part is on back order so now I have a brand new $1400 snow blower that i can only start with the electric. Other than that I like the machine looks rugged and cant wait to use it in the first storm.

As Advertised
Part 1: The arrival. Ordered the snow blower on Monday and it arrived here in mid-Nebraska on Wednesday. Amazing is all I can say! Good job.
Part 2: Removing the carton and getting it put together was pretty easy - didn't take too long to accomplish the task. My first attempt at using it was merely OK - I had not adjusted the cable on the lock out control, so I was only getting one wheel to drive the blower. After the adjustment was tweaked, it worked very well.

Price Was Right
I purchased an Ariens 30 inch snowblower with a 305 Briggs engine.
The machine looks like is is well made. It arrived on-time in the factory sealed box. Purchase and delivery went smoothly.
Assembly was a snap . I DID NOT follow the the Owners Manual. It took me about 20 minutes to figure out the assembly by myself after I decided not to follow the instructions . The instructions were confusing. Obviously written by someone who knows the machine and not for a first time user on an unfamiliar machine!
I put gas in in. Started on the first Pull.
I am waiting for the snow. Its 64 degrees today (Feb. 1st 2012) so I may have to wait until next year.
The only real Issues I have are with the Owners/Operator Manual. There must be a paper shortage at Ariens. The illustrations are next to useless because they are TOO SMALL.
The Manual should be on an 8 1/2 by 11 inch paper, this would blow the detailed images up so that you can see the parts they are talking about. It would make assembly easier too. Some rewriting of the manual is necessary as I said.
I am satisfied that I made the purchase at SBD.

This thing is a beast. It just cuts through anything. I bought this snowblower to replace a MTD 10 hp 28" deck unit from the late 1990's which I thought was a beast. This thing blows it away!! I cannot believe how well it cuts through the hard packed snow. My old snowblower would struggle and spin the tires a lot even with tire chains. As I used it for the first time and cut through some deeper snow I expected it to slow down and it never did. I was waiting for it bog down and for it to need a push. Instead, IT PULLED ME through the deep hard packed snow!! "I LOVE THIS THING"!

Machine Is A Beast
Just received my Ariens 30 in. deluxe. The order came as promised. All I had to do was cut open the box and assemble it. All in all it took about 30 minutes to do. The machine is a BEAST and is beautiful to look at. I live in the northeast and we get a lot of wet and heavy snow. I can't wait to throw that wet slop as well as the powdery snow. I had a 24 in. 2 stage and was not satisfied with the engine's power. I have a feeling that I won't have that problem anymore.

Unbelievable Snow Blower!
I purchased the deluxe 30 on 12/26/2010.....the day the blizzard began here in New Jersey. I originally didn't want something this big, but it was the last machine left in the store and it was either the deluxe 30 or a shovel. When I got it home I fueled it up and waited for the snow to come.
The next morning I fired the machine up (one pull) and began clearing my backyard (for the dogs), the driveway, sidewalks, etc. I ended up snow blowing the entire neighborhood because no one had a machine that could handle the amount of snow we had gotten. The deluxe 30 is a beast! It took no time to clear everything and was an absolute pleasure to use.
We subsequently had several more snow storms that dumped A LOT on us. I fired up the machine and went to it again, doing the whole neighborhood with ease. If I learned one thing about snow blowers, it's: don't buy cheap or small. Bigger is better and Ariens is the best! I added the drift cutters and hand warmers later in the season and they worked like champs!
Just upgraded to the ST28DLE. Will evaluate once I use it.

Delivery Challenge
One of the reasons I chose to go with Snow Blowers Direct was to get the snowblower delivered to a second home that is quite a distance from my primary residence. I was going to be there on a specific date. I paid extra for the liftgate delivery. Snowblower Direct shipped the unit out on the correct date but the ball was dropped on the shipping end. I had to make another trip a week later and made sure to contact the carrier several times. When they arrived they did not have a liftgate. If I had it to do over again I would not have paid for the lift gate service. Most likely it would have been delivered as scheduled for less money.
The day after the snowblower was delivered I assembled it and we had a 6" snow so I had a chance to try it out. The snowblower works great.

Nice Machine
I received the snow thrower on the day and time slot as communicated to me. The lift gate service was nice because it was in a large box and I couldn't lift it myself. The delivery service brought the unit into my garage with a hand fork lift. The unit was very easy to put together and only took 45 minutes. It was serviced with oil and the tires were aired up. I did have to adjust the slack in the control cables a little. I used it on two inches of snow but was certainly no test for this unit. However, the engine starts very well and is the procedure is easy to understand.
My wife will have no problem when I'm ice fishing. The chute direction control was awkward, I wish it was on the control panel so I didn't have to reach over the panel. Also, the chute control is on the same side as the drive control, that means you have to take your hand off the drive to move the chute direction. This is only important if your turning, not using the auger and want to change the chute direction, a little inconvenient. Other than that I like it so far, and can't wait for the 10 incher to give it a work out. I really like that it is made in the USA.

So far, I am happy with the snow blower. However, it has not snowed and it is still in the box. What I can say is that I am happy with the condition the unit showed up in. The box was not damaged and the snow blower looks to be fine, it is still in the original carton.
I am also impressed with my dealings with Snow Blowers Direct for the following reasons:
1) Very competitive pricing, no shipping charges, no taxes.
2) Received e-mail updates alerting me of the progress of the order.
3) Was happy with receiving the additional discount for writing a check, worked fine since I was not in a hurry for the unit.

Best Snowblower Ever Purchased
I used to own an Ariens snow blower about 10 years ago and decided to sell it and buy a cheaper one from a local retailer. Every few years I kept selling the store bought ones because they were junk. Parts kept falling off of them, shear pins kept breaking, and the traction was terrible. After about 8 years of owning store purchased garbage, I purchased an Ariens model 921013 and I'm glad that I did. I have survived two winters of heavy snow and without the Ariens I would have been cursing every minute.
Thank you Ariens for making a quality product with a three year warranty (store bought snow blowers have a one year warranty).
Ariens is an American made product that I am proud of owning.

Very Smooth Seamless Transaction!
I was not apprehensive about ordering online from Snow Blowers Direct, and after receiving my Ariens Deluxe ST30LE I am a very happy customer. I had done some checking on local prices and the SB Direct beat them all coupled with no sales tax and free shipping it was a win-win situation. I knew (or at least was hoping) I wouldn't need the machine for a few months so I made use of the "Pay by Check" offer and saved some additional money (I also ordered during the pre-season sale).
Throughout the transaction process I was kept up to date via e-mail on my order status. I actually went from "backordered" to "item shipped" in one day!! The unit arrived with absolutely no shipping damage, today I final assembled it and it started right up. I would like to say I can't wait to use it in snow but I can wait because snow = cold weather and we can wait a little while for that stuff. Thank you Snow Blowers Direct!

Deliver And Assembly Remarks
I have not had the opportunity to actually use this snowblower yet... from appearances... Seems like a very solid machine. Thought it worth noting the delivery was quick... It comes in a sizable box and is well protected.
The assembly was very simple... I didn't read the instructions and had it done in about 20 minutes. If I had read the instructions, I would have put some grease at the base of the chute before bolting it on. Tires needed more air.
One other observation... it being new... it has an oddly strong chemical smell... hoping that won't last long.

I bought my snow blower early so have not used it yet but with that said it came on time and in perfect
shape, the ordering process was as easy, I am very pleased with every thing at this point, I am sure the
blower will work as good as it look's. As for the cab it is nice as well, just some mounting concerns, the hardware
does not fit real well and the cab needs a little more support at the back, out side of that very pleased.

Very Good Blower
It's a very nice product but in that video it must be a higher-end model with a bigger motor, or that guy got lucky and got a strong one. It looks like it's blowing maybe 40ft or more. My 921013 (305cc) blows the snow about 30-32ft at the most, which is good enough and gets it out of the way. I have a double-wide driveway and it clears the other side. That's all I wanted.. but I think advertising 50ft is stretching it. Maybe with some 25-30mph winds it could blow it 50ft, but with a normal 5-10mph breeze or calm conditions, I have not been able to get more than 32ft. The snow blower is pretty loud and I hope people are wearing hearing protection.
It also needs some more weight in the front. It tends to climb up when there is a lot of compacted snow with ice more than 2ft tall, or the 3ft bank created by the town plows, or the wheel will spin. You do get used to it though and how to avoid that by going back & forth. But it's a good product and our 1st winter ('10) with it went fine with several 1-2 foot snow storms. Gearing up for the blower's 2nd "season" now and came back here to see if I can get some accessories for it to cut through an icy snow bank, maybe.
I am not sure if most people reviewing this product here have owned snow blowers before, used older ones. I would rate this blower average because I have owned a couple of them in the last 22yrs, plus I used my dad's when I was a teenager living "at home". Some of those old snow blowers were back then were work horses and handled a lot of snow the same or a little better than this model. It's when you get those 2ft of heavy and wet snow that you are putting the snow blower to the test.. I am sure there are better ones out there for a lot more $, but for the price this one is pretty decent I guess, thus my 4 stars.

My buying experience with Snowblowers Direct has been very good. Delivery time was much better than expected and the blower got here in perfect condition. Winter hasn't arrived yet here in the northwest yet, but when it does, I'll be ready.

Living In Mn Can't Kill It º¿º
Got the machine halfway thru season, so over 2ft of snow & ice (some packed) already on the ground.
Have a really long gravel drive and road almost 300yds which the neighbor usually plows with truck. He was away when we got hit with nearly 3 feet overnight. Got the trusty beast out of the stable and did the lot better than he usually does in less than 2 hours. Benefit being the ARIENS threw all the snow way off into a field, leaving none piled up at the side of the roadway, as was usually the case. End result - wider road, clean as a whistle.
Even in MN haven't yet found the need to buy hand warmers for the machine yet. Also managed to clear 5000 sq ft yard practically down to the grass level.
This is my 1st blower which I researched into well. And I am entirely happy that I made the right choice !!
OK, some ARE cheaper. - But look how they are made. - And a 3 year warranty, well what can I say.
Five stars for quality & build.
10 for end results.

Well I missed the 3ft December blizzard and after that I swore I would never shovel again. I tried to find a snow blower but as you know all the stores run out of everything with the mention of the word snow.
I did a lot of research and knew what I was looking for I just couldn't find one. Then I found this site and purchased the Ariens Deluxe 30.
What a pleasure it was dealing with Snow Blowers Direct. The machine is a beast throwing snow like nothing I’ve ever seen before.
My neighbor has the Craftsman snow blower and it looked good in the blizzard with the light powdery snow but the small amount we got was wet and heavy. We were outside helping people dig out and man was I glad I bought this thing.
He came over and said who makes that and I said Ariens which he replied my sons a greens man on the golf course and that’s what they use, Ariens equipment.

Great Service
Ordered the ST30LE and have been very pleased with it so far. Service was great for ordering the snow blower as well as the spare shear pins.
Easy to put together and powerful enough to cut through wet ice from the worst winter we have had in over 100 years. Can use a bit more weight to keep the nose down, but overall very pleased so far.

4 Feet And Counting....
We've survived up to this year without a snow blower, but after getting 4 feet of snow in 30 days and not being able to get fifty feet to the wood pile to keep the house warm, we broke down and decided to buy a snow blower. Driving to all the big box stores we found there were no snow blowers available, everyone else around here had the same idea.
Going online I stumbled across Snow Blowers Direct as well as other companies who had blowers available. One company was even a hundred or so dollars less expensive, but then I read the reviews. Snow Blowers Direct had rave reviews, the other company had mediocre and bad reviews so we decided to go with SBD and we soon found out we did the right thing. Before the weekend was over I received an email acknowledging my order. First thing Monday morning I received confirmation that the snow blower was shipped and it arrived at our house on time in excellent shape.
Putting it together was a breeze, just a few simple steps. It started up without issue and cut through the snow to the wood like a hot knife through butter. It starts and runs like a dream, it handles snow, even 32 inches of accumulated old snow with some ice mixed in or the 4 foot berm out front that the city built up in front of our mailbox. We can not say enough about this machine and SBD. Both are wonderful and we're very happy with our decision and will definitely use SBD again.

All around I will buy again from Snow Blowers Direct. Not only free shipping, no tax and great prices, what more can you ask?
The only down size I had about the snow thrower was it doesn't shoot 50 ft high. The most is like 30 ft but awesome machine.

Monster Snowblower For Ny
I purchased the snow blower late in the season, but I had the chance to use it several times in over 2 feet of snow. It's a monster, the machine maneuvers better than I thought it would for its size and goes through heavy wet snow with ease. I am very happy with my purchase.

Ariens Deluxe St30le
I was looking for a heavy duty snow blower for a long time because I have a large 250 ft gravel driveway leading up to my business. I price-compared your costs to some local suppliers and could not believe how much more reasonable your prices were to theirs.
I was skeptical and thought that maybe there would be a problem with stock or delivery but I was very happy when I received an email minutes after ordering saying that it was in-stock and I could not believe that it showed up at my home two days later.
The driver called ahead of time to tell me when he would be there, he unloaded it with a pallet jack and rolled it up to my garage. I could not have asked for a better experience, from the order to the delivery. Snow Blowers Direct is a quality company and one that I have already recommended to several of my friends.
Thank You for a great online experience

Works Fine
The only problem we have had is with the delivery -- because of bad weather the trucking company would not deliver to the house, so we had to go to Wallingford, Conn. to pick the thing up. Luckily it would fit in the SUV. But we wasted the $50 we had paid for lift-gate delivery.

Does The Job As Advertised
Received my snowblower the morning before our second snowfall of the season (unfortunately I didn't have it for the 24 inches that fell in December). It went through the 6 inch snowfall like there was nothing there.
Very easy to use that I did my driveway and several of my neighbors as well. This week was another 18 inches of heavy snow. The Ariens handled it with no issues. Thankfully we decided to get this snowblower.
Dealing with Snow Blowers Direct was a pleasure. They were very helpful on the phone and got me my equipment in the time-frame promised. The guy from the shipping company was even nice enough to wheel the box down my long driveway into my garage where I could do the final assembly.

Third Time Lucky
After the two snowstorms that hit my region at end-December/Early January I decided to do something about it. A snow plow for my truck, a snowblower PTO attachment for my tractor, or a snow blower/thrower. After much consideration and economic consideration I settled on a snow blower/thrower. Ariens had always, in my opinion, had a good reputation and I decided to go for the model with the large engine, 30 inch-wide cut, and with electric start.
The third storm that came through last night, with heavy wet snow (maybe only three inches, but heavy) was my first time "out" with the new equipment. It started perfectly and in 30 minutes I had cleared my 200 yards of paved driveway side to side. Couldn't have been happier.
Would highly recommend to anyone with a similar type of need.

Let It Snow
After many frugal years I decided to invest in a snowblower a few days before a big snow storm. Shipping was very fast and got to me in a couple of days.
I had about 18" on my driveway and this blower got rid of it in minutes. It normally took me about 3-4 hours to shovel. I don't have much to compare this model to but there are no regrets and no drawbacks. If you do get it you'll be amazed at how many friends want to see you after it snows.

Great Service, Great Product
I did a lot of searching on the internet and finally selected the Ariens Deluxe 30" Two-Stage as I have a very long driveway. Three uses so far and it has worked like a charm. Snow Blowers Direct was "as advertised", I ordered the blower late on Tuesday, it shipped Wednesday and arrived in NJ at 9AM Friday morning. Minimal assembly took about 30 minutes. Great service and a good product.

Outstanding Performance
The purchase process with Snow Blowers Direct was outstanding and I could not have been happier with them and the delivery company. Snow Blowers Direct did everything they said they would and then some - the communications from them was nothing short of outstanding.
Assembly of the Snow Blower was quite good until I got to the Chute Deflector control, and I must say that I am a bit surprised that such a finely engineered piece of equipment has such a shabby chute deflector control. Ariens really missed the boat here and could do a much better job - worse yet, my attempt to get input and suggestion from Ariens was terrible and took me having to reach out to the CEO of the company to gain any sort of satisfaction. If you go up on the web and look for Ariens reviews you would find that this is a common complaint which would tell me that Ariens doesn't do much in customer follow-up or they would have addressed the problem.
Aside from the chute issue, the machine works fantastic and confirms to me that my research in searching for the best possible machine resulting in the purchase of an Ariens was 100% justified. The only thing that I would do different is that I should have ordered "drift cutters" along with my purchase, which I will now do so.
The snow blower is really quite good and easily handles snow 12 inches and above, but the performance of Snow Blowers Direct was outstanding and Ariens could take a lesson from SBD relative to customer communications and care.

Very Pleased With The Machine And Sb Direct
I purchased the snowblower last year after Washington DC's two big snowstorms. I'll never have to shovel like that again. I'm originally from Mass. and was familiar with Ariens. The machine is fantastic. Starts easy and is easy to use. More than enough power.
The unit originally came with a broken drive lever. Called and got the new one within two days. More than happy. I think two co-workers also bought from Snow Blowers Direct after my recommendation. The non-stick spray works great on shovels too but a little expensive, probably worth it though. I'm very happy with my purchases.

Delivery Is Misleading
I like the snowblower. But: Instead of the 3-4 day delivery estimate, it took 12 days from when I placed the order. I had to call the carrier several times to track it. It switched carriers twice supposedly to a smaller delivery truck. But then it showed up on a 48 ft. semi. Even though I live less than a mile off of the State Highway, I had to take the canopy off of my pickup, meet the semi, off-load into my pickup and unload it myself at home. The semi had a lift gate, but that did not matter. I wish I had bought at Home Depot and I would have had it in the 3-4 days and would not have gotten snowed in.

Extremely Pleased, Can't Wait Until The Next Big Storm.
I was extremely pleased with my new Ariens snowblower on how easy it was to assemble and how well it functioned.
Others have complained about having to reach out to change the direction of the chute; as for me it was not a problem.
If I had this snowblower when we got hit with the two snow storms, I could have done my driveway in about an hour instead of 4 hours using my old blower.

Top Notch Customer Service
This review is more about the fantastic customer service of SnowBlowersDirect.com than the machine.
I placed my order for this machine which was back ordered by two weeks, and I was pleasantly surprised when it shipped about a week early.
Unfortunately for me the freight company (R&L) lost it somewhere after it arrived at my local terminal. After several days of excuses, and two scheduled delivery dates where R&L failed to show, I called customer service at SnowBlowersDirect.com for help.
SnowBlowersDirect.com immediately put my mind and my wallet at ease and took control of the claim process with R&L.
SnowBlowersDirect.com placed a new order at no additional expense to me, and shipped another unit the same day! I just took delivery of my new Ariens 921013, and it is an impressive machine proudly made in the USA.
The customer service at SnowBlowersDirect.com is top notch and I can personally attest that your money is safe and well spent.

Excellent Process-timely Delivery!!
We live in Maryland. We heard the forecast for "substantial snowfall" on Tuesday Feb 2, 2010. My husband recently had back surgery and was not able to shovel snow. Our area was forecasted to receive between 1 and 2 FEET of snow.
We went online and researched many snow blowers and vendors. We decided to order the Ariens from you on Wednesday and placed our order before noon. We received confirmation that the snow blower shipped that same day and a tracking number.
We followed the tracking very closely as the impending blizzard was scheduled to begin on Friday afternoon. We were SO DELIGHTED to have the snow blower delivered to us about 1:30 in the afternoon on Friday just as the snow started.
We ended up getting over 2 feet of snow- the picture says it all. We are extremely pleased with the ordering process, communication, delivery tracking, the Ariens model, and above all the QUICK delivery of the snowblower. It got to us just in time!!!
We've told many friends, acquaintances and neighbors. I expect your company will receive orders based on our recommendation.
THANKS SO MUCH!!

Would Prefer Chute Control On The Console
I purchased an Ariens 30" snow blower w/o the chute directional control on the console. I reside in Big Bear Lake, CA and we received 6 feet of snow in January, 2010.
The Ariens blower did a great job, however, I would prefer the chute directional control on the console as it is very awkward to reach forward to turn the chute handle.
I think Ariens should place the chute control on the console of all their models for convenience and safety. My neighbor owns an older 32" Ariens blower which I have operated and her snow blower performs stronger in heavy snow and ice.
The Ariens snow blower is a great machine, and the only thing I would do in hindsight would be to purchase a larger 32" machine.
Snow Blowers Direct order and tech staff answered all my questions and the purchase experience was outstanding.
Thank you, Snow Blowers Direct, for such a great purchase experience.

Dumbest luck, but I actually had my Ariens delivered the day before DC Metro's big December storm.
After our second big storm last weekend, I only wish I had bought one sooner. I was always wary about its danger- but after reading the manual cover to cover and giving it healthy respect and caution, just about any can use one.
It's embarrassing how quickly it clears the 3100 sq ft of driveway we have ... I start later and finish earlier; then I can help tidy up the aprons of my adjacent neighbors too.

Not As Happy As I Should Be
I ordered all the right things and trusted the brand name, or at least that is what was supposed to happen. Instead I get the delivery, take about 30 minutes to get the blower off the pallet it came on, unboxed and all assembled, then spend about 3 hours trying to get the "DELUXE CAB" assembled and attached the the blower... Not an easy thing to do, you would think it would be but it is not.
Which by the way, there is no need to order the Clean Out Tool, it comes with one. NICE over purchase on my part.
I have used the blower six times, with light snow, wet snow and compacted snow. At night and during the day, after the storm ended and during the storm. All the possible conditions you could think of.
First off the machine constantly pulls to the left. I think the rate of spin between the left wheel and right wheel is ever so slightly off that end up fighting the machine the whole time... and let me tell you on a 440 foot long driveway with a large turn around at the garage, that is a lot of fighting. I don't think this can be fixed, the gears are just off, poorly made... so the machine sucks the energy out of you as you fight to keep it straight.
Second the Deluxe Cab that I spent so much time get onto the darn machine has to be attached so low that it hits my head and I have to fight with it the whole time.
The front weight doesn't seem to make much of a difference; I'm not sure if it worth the cost. I am not very happy with the shifting controls, very hard to work with when you are actually blowing, also the quick release wheel lock always seems to be unlocked when I don't want it to be and locked when I do, not happy about that little design flaw. It should just unlock the wheel when you squeeze the trigger and lock back up when released, not try to have you squeeze the trigger each time to lock then unlock, but if you don't squeeze hard enough, surprise, you try to turn and snap it pulls you back because the wheel is locked... UGH... hope they fix this next generation.
All in all if this was something easy to return, I would. I will not support this ARIENS brand in the market place. I may be selling this in the spring... hopefully the new owner doesn't mind all the quality issues.
I have used the blower six times, with light snow, wet snow and compacted... more

Dedicated And Concerned
Unfortunately, through no error on Snow Blowers Direct.com's part, my snow blower at the truck terminal was damaged and I did not sign for it.
Snow Blowers Direct, being dedicated and concerned, took a bad experience and turn it into a good one.
Thank you! I will buy from them again!

Everyone Is Happy I Bought It
The snowthrower looks great in my garage, and is ready to go.
But, it hasn't snowed since I received it... I figure since I bought it, it won't snow again for three years?
So, everyone in the neighborhood is very happy I bought it!

Awesome
This is my first snowblower and I decided to spend some money to avoid buying a underpowered small width blower.
I am excited to say the blower lived up to its reviews. It is flat-out awesome!

Snowblower
Just to let you know we love the new blower!
We looked here in Columbus and for anything that was close to our Ariens it was about $700 higher. It came quickly to our home from the shipping company.
Our next blower will definitely be another one from SnowblowerDirect.com. Thanks again!
P.S. We couldn't even find a blower in Columbus as they were all sold out because of that bad snow storm, which now we are glad of because this is such a nice one.

Ariens Deluxe 30
I bought this blower new in early December of 09 and I now have used it 4 times.
The first snow was 16" of powder, the blower worked great considering I had to go through drifts higher than the engine. I did find that the low gear moves the blower too fast for deep snow. I would like a slower speed for drifts.
The next two snows were 4" and this was a walk in the park. The chute adjustment (ice drill) works great and the remote locking axle is a must as it made turning around at the end of the drive a breeze.
The last snow was 3" and wet. The Ariens Deluxe 30 did the job and I never needed to clean the chute one time.
I would give this blower a big TWO thumbs up and recommend it for anyone with a lot of snow to move.
