Eating through snow and ice
I handn't been to our place in a few weeks so we had about 7 inches of snow and melted ice and five new inches of snow. It ate through that so I took it up to where the snow plow had blocked our driveway and it went through that also. A great machine.

Ariens Deluxe ST30LE (30")
Very pleased indeed with this purchase. We had a 20" dump of snow from the storm this weekend. This Ariens cleared our 120ft driveway & 200ft of sidewalk without any trouble at all. I have used an older John Deere machine for the last couple of years, but this new machine is superior in every way: easy to start (one-touch with the electric start), good power output & torque, easy to use overall.
A friend gave me a tip to buy as big a machine as possible, & I think this was good advice, I cleared a much greater area than one of our neighbors (who opted for a smaller, cheaper machine), in about half the time it took my neighbor!
I would not hesitate to recommend this blower.

My Vacation
I'm in Florida on vacation watching it snow 22'' on my driveway in New York. As of last year I needed to plow each 3 to 6 inches of snow because the tractor could not push all that much snow.
I come home to New York with ONE pull on my new Ariens and it started right up. This machine went through the snow with no problem at all. My 120 foot 3 car wide driveway was done in no time. No more pushing pack onto the grass in the event of more snow.
I love this machine and its works great. I do have a electric start but the pull start works just as easily too.
Ordering was so easy with these guys, the shipping arrived within one week, GREAT Customer service also. Thanks Snow Blowers Direct.com, let it snow, I am ready.

Twas the day of the blizzard 2010...
After several years of service from my Noma Performance snow blower it was time to upgrade to a larger and more powerful unit. Like Tim Allen said if a piece of equipment is failing you...add MORE POWER!
I placed my order with Snow Blowers Direct in late October. The unit that I had decided on was the Ariens Deluxe ST30 LE. It was on sale and the price seemed pretty fair. This unit came equipped with the Subaru 287 cc Robyn engine versus the typical Briggs and Stratton motor. The Subaru motor was slightly more powerful that the comparable Briggs engine.
Within a few days of my order I received the unit. The shipping company was spot-on in following my directions on where to place the box. I came home from work and found the unit sitting in my driveway. It took me all of about 20 minutes to put the whole thing together and get it into a state of operational readiness. Now I just needed snow.
As you can imagine the placement of new snow removal equipment thwarts the progression of any snow activity into your neighborhood. It wasn't until two days after Christmas that I got a chance to use the new orange marauder.
The motor was simple to start and very quiet, well at least compared to my old machine. And it merrily chugged along making short work of my driveway, two of the neighbors, the entire length of sidewalk on my side of the street and the fire hydrant at the corner. DON'T FORGET TO CLEAR THOSE HYDRANTS! Nothing sucks more that getting halfway through fighting a house fire and losing your water supply.
Anyways this is a nice little machine. PM seems like it should be pretty easy to perform, the crank for the chute is quick and very easy to operate as was all of the other dashboard controls. My only gripe is that the reverse speeds (2) are painfully slow. I'm not looking for ludicrous speed but something a little faster than a grandmother counting change at a checkout line would be nice.
I'm looking forward to the next snow storm and I would certainly use the Power Equipment Direct route for future purchases.

Haven't had snow to test it yet here in MD but you can tell the snow blower is built. I'm so glad I purchased this before SBD ran out of them. I sent a check and before I knew it, the blower was in my driveway.
One thing about the transaction was that shipping was amazingly smooth. I have a 200 yard drive and the driver didn't feel comfortable driving with low hanging trees. That concerned me until we agreed to have him drive into the development community next door. Then he got out his skid jack and pulled the beast up hill and through neighbor's drive 150 feet and over the unpaved part of my driveway. I've never seen anything like it. SBD must have some relationship with R-L Trucking because the driver couldn't have been more professional or caring.
The machine is quality!! From all the research I did, Subaru is the clear choice. The Ariens was a breeze to assemble out of the box. Everything works perfectly. I can't wait for piles of snow.

Blows snow for miles
I have only had one snow worth using this blower on yet--but does this thing blow snow! Picks it up and shoots it wherever you aim it.
It's not a small blower, and it takes some getting used to in terms of maneuverability. It started on the 3rd pull without using the electric start.

Love it
Purchase was so easy. I just sent in a check and delivery truck was placing the snow blower in my garage.
Now all I need is some snow.

Ariens and Subaru... You Can't Go Wrong!
Started the research early this year after my old Craftsman Single Stage finally started running bad last year and I ended up shoveling snow instead of using a snow blower.
I ordered this and couldn't believe it arrived in less than a week. It took about a half hour to put together, fueled it up and started right away. Now the wait was on for the first snow which finally made it.
What a fantastic snow blower, made short work of the driveway and the neighbor was out wanting to borrow it. Wouldn't buy anything else!

Excellent Power
We had out first real snow storm for winter 2010-11 and this machine handled it well.
It just bears down and chews through whatever you give it to eat.
The Subaru engine is a star. And since I got this at clearance prices, it's even better. Even with shipping to Canada it was still cheaper than the B&S version at Depot.
Should the Subaru's surface again, buy it.

Great snowblower
We live in Teton Valley, ID at the base of the Teton Mountains and get snow by the foot. I recieved my snowblower and it has worked extremely well.
Starts like a dream (even pull starts easy if I need to). I have a gravel drive and have not had any problems, even though I kick up a rock now and then. Our driveway is on a shared road and I generally blow about 30 x 30 yards of my driveway and about 75 yards of the shared road. With this big boy, I can usually get it done in about and hour and a half. Busted a sheer pin (probably a rock from the drive) and replaced it easily.
My only complaints are:
1) dim headlight...is there a brighter bulb?
2) need chains...cant find them at Snow Blowers Direct.
3) differential lock seems to stick
4) chute adjustment pops off frequently
Also, had some warm weather and about 4 inches of slush that it struggled to clear. I think that the front-weight kit and some chains would easily resolve that problem.
Otherwise, this thing is a tank and runs like a champ. I think I am the envy of the neighborhood with this big orange beast. For the price, it is definitely the best blower you can buy.

I LOVE my new Ariens ST30LE
All I can say is WOW! I'm glad I purchased an Ariens! I did a LOT of research prior to my purchase looking for the best product to buy and the best vendor to buy from. Ariens and Snow Blowers Direct won my business.
I was a little concerned with the lack of one wheel traction control, which is a feature found on the Platinum models. However, I found this snow blower very easy to maneuver. I'm a male, 5'11" 160. If I was smaller or female, I might go with the Platinum.
The Subaru engine found on this model is awesome. I really put this snow blower through its paces following the recent December 2010 Minnesota storm. My neighbors were gone so I ended up blowing off three large driveways with 18-24" of snow. I plowed into huge drifts at the lowest speed and it just chugged right through with the snow just rocketing out of the chute.
The speed, reverse/forward and chute controls were all easy to manipulate. The high quality construction was apparent. I also received great customer service from Snow Blowers Direct. I'll be back. I'm a very happy customer.

Easy process! Great prices, quick delivery. One snow under my belt and am loving the unit.
Electric start is a breeze and although we only had 6 inches the 30 inch path made quick work of my driveway. This is the only way to move snow!

ARIENS & SUBARU - A winnning combination!
I purchased this Ariens ST30LE 921020 snowblower for three reasons: A primary reason was the availability of the Subaru SX-30 engine. For those of you who are motorheads, you likely already know the superiority of this engine versus the typical air cooled engines offered. Subaru engines evolved from the old Wisconsin engines, and more recently Robin engines.
The only engines comparable to the Subaru are Honda or Kohler. In short, with the Subaru you’re receiving a very sophisticated, efficient, ultra-quiet engine that has proven the test of time. The overall power, and low end torque on this Subaru engine is impressive. Bottom line: it's not that the standard engines are shoddy… it's just that the Subaru engine is superior in virtually every respect.
Anyone looking to buy a snowblower owes it to themselves to do their homework before purchasing. Btw, I have this same engine on my 5500 kw generator – quiet as any Honda powered generator and flawless performance.
The second reason for my purchase is the fact that the machine is an Ariens. I am still using my 1977 Rocket VII Ariens rear tine tiller. It looks and runs virtually like new. It replaced my Ariens Yardster rototiller that lasted well over 30 years…and was still running well when I sold it to step up to the Rocket tiller. The test of time was well met.
The third reason was the SUPER price and prompt, professional service offered by Snow Blowers Direct! I still cannot believe that I purchased this tiller WITH the Subaru engine for several hundred of dollars less than local dealers…with no freight charges and no sales tax.
Shipment time was nothing short of extraordinary, I ordered it and received it three days later. Communication from Snowblowerdirect.com was excellent, with information about freight arrival coming almost immediately. Assembling the blower was straight-forward and quick.
Today I finally put the 921020 to its initial test….about 6” of very wet snow. It chewed into the snow, blowing it extraordinary distances. Where the snow was drier, it blew it with even more vigor. The lever mounted locking differential was a real treat too. Easy engage, easy disengage.
I’ve already sold a friend on the same unit which he too has purchased and received in three days! This is the way manufacturers and vendors are supposed to work: Offer a superior product, at a competitive price, with professional, prompt and courteous service. Thanks Snow Blowers Direct!

Its got the power I wanted!
We've had 2 snow falls so far, one was the real wet and heavy stuff. This snowblower works great! Easy to handle and so far the Subaru motor seems awesome, starts easy and plenty of power.
The delivery was quick, I had it within a couple days. I got lift gate service and the delivery guy wheeled it right into my garage. Everything is good.

Great First Snowblower
I've lived in a more moderate climate until this November and needed a good snowblower quick. I ordered it and had it a week later. A week after that I had the first real snow to practice on.
You can tell this snowblower is well designed and built. Having looked at other brands, I am happy with how sturdy this machine is. I am still learning, and perhaps a model with tracks would have better traction in some spots, but this throws the snow like a pro even if I am a novice.
The one warning is that I didn't get a phone call until just before the trucking company first tried to deliver it, and was working elsewhere. The second time was better coordinated and everything worked out well. But, put your cell number down for delivery and if you can, stay within a short drive to your house until it is delivered.

30" Ariens is a Beast
Well Sir, I researched snow blowers and Ariens came out on top. Then where too buy, checked prices out and Snow Blowers Direct looked like they would fill the bill.
So I ordered up the 287cc subaru engine on the 30inch model. I made sure I paid the $50 for the lift gate service (totally worth it.) When it arrived on the R&L freight truck, the driver dragged the gigantic box on a skid up my gravel drive 50 yards or so, no easy task, dragged it in my garage, while he patiently waited for me to inspect it. At least 15 minutes, before I signed the paper work.
Then the fun began: my neighbor and I spent the next hour putting it together, then fixing what we did wrong. I checked the oil and filled it with gas and the second pull she started humming. Turned it off, added the electric start cord, pushed the button & she started humming right away. We played with all the levers, figuring out what did what.
What a beast. Now I need some snow, then I will give you the real test info. Thanks for the great service & to R&L Freight Co.

My new snow blower came promptly as promised. No hassle. Having a fork lift to receive the unit from the truck saves on handling cost. Set up of the unit was easy.
Have had only one chance to use this beast so far. A very wet and heavy snow where the slush came out like a milk shake. Not the best for snow blowers but this unit still was able to throw it about 25 feet before rocks jammed the auger and sheared the shear pins (as designed). Now on to ordering more pins.
The Subaru engine started up right away. Fairly quiet running and the torque range is very nicely optimized. Getting the nylon shoes for the deck is highly recommended. They should be standard as the steel shoes send grinding shivers up your spine. I have made some for my other snow blowers using slides from snow mobile tracks. Work great.
Thank you for your great product lines and service.

My First New Snowblower
Congratulations! Your staff did an Excellent job. The shipment was made in a timely manner. Upon arrival
an inspection revealed no damage with all parts present.
It took only about thirty minutes to open the carton and assemble the unit. I would highly recommend your company to anyone with basic mechanical skills who wants to save money.
This is my first snowblower purchase, and I'm totally happy with the operation of this snowblower.
Awesome performance during our recent blizzard of about 22" of drifting snow. Worked beautifully and even tackled the icy pile of snow at the front of the driveway caused by the city plows.
Only recommendation would be for optional snow chains (have to contact Ariens directly for that). SnowBlowers Direct delivered on time and at a great price.
Just ordered my Zero Turn mower from their MowersDirect.com site.

BEAST OF A MACHINE
WHAT A MACHINE! If your looking to clear snow and want a unit that will last years and years, this is the machine to buy.
The Subaru engine is in a upper class of its own that will run for decades and out perform all others.
No matter how much snow I fed this unit it never hesitated once, and the all-steel construction (including the metal chute) just makes this a worthy purchase.
The price is a little more costly, but this will be the last snow blower you'll ever buy!
