| Snow Blowers Direct Recommendation |
| By Snow Blowers Direct |
The Ariens ST28DLE Pro Series two-stage snow thrower is designed to deliver unrivaled performance. This top-of-the-line machine offers you everything you'd expect in a pro grade snow thrower – and several things you might not.
The Ariens ST28DLE has a control panel that puts all the levers and switches at your fingertips, including the chute deflector and the traction control, which makes it easier to maneuver through heavy snow, slush or ice. The ST28DLE also includes several standard features that are normally “add-ons” with other snow throwers, including hand warmers, a halogen headlight and drift cutters.
The Ariens ST28DLE can clear more than a ton of snow per minute, and will throw snow up to 50 feet (depending on snow conditions). Snow drifts up to two feet tall will go flying when you drive this snow throwing monster into them. This snow thrower eats up as much snow as Mother Nature can dish out. If you have a big driveway, a long walkway or sidewalk, or any other large surface you need to keep clear of snow, this is the machine for you.
The extra-tall steel discharge chute sends the snow flying farther and higher. The nicely designed drift cutters can be easily adjusted without tools – either extended to take on high drifts or rotated down, out of the way. The tires on this unit are an immense 16 inches and provide stability without having to drag the tire chains out of the garage.
The Ariens ST28DLE will make even the toughest and largest of snowstorms seem relatively tame. The Ariens ST28DLE is designed to make your job and your life easier.

| Hard to teach an old dog new tricks |
| By gary (Adel, IA) |
I have spent 35 years with a big John Deere two-stage and compared to this Ariens the Deere is one heck of a lot easier to run.
The forwarf handle on the Ariens sticks up in the air too far to be able to maneuver in tight quarters. The gear shift has all those notches and detents, where the Deere was all a straight line.
There is also no reason to have two reverse speeds. On the old Deere when you engaged the auger it stayed engaged; on the Ariens it pops out when the other lever is let up.
That side to side chute lever on the Ariens leaves something to desire. Having two levers on a chute is a waste.
Changing the rubber drive wheel on the Ariens is quite a lot more work than the Deere. Some of the Ariens looks over designed and some of it looks under designed.
If you never had a old Deere then the Ariens is fine; but it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks. So if you have a good old Deere like I do and buy a $2,000 Ariens, keep the Deere. |

| Do Your Homework! |
| By David Rolfe (Bristol, CT) |
For thirty years, I either shoveled to keep in shape or used a snow thrower to assist. When I bought my house in 2007 I realized shoveling a 175' driveway was not going to have much appeal.
I did my homework and found that Ariens model 926038 could handle anything Mother Nature throws at us. Now, I do my driveway and the sidewalks in less than 20 minutes with ease.
This machine by far is the machine for a homeowner due to its durability and relentless power. I pull to start and not once have I pulled more than twice to start in the three years I've owned this "Bear". It's started in Fall on first pull every year I've owned it.
I believe you should save up and spend the extra on the Professional series because of what is offered, compared to your typical series sold at the big stores.....
Warning: Do your homework as I did!! |
