Q: Is this usable on gravel and uneven walkway slabs by Anonymous from Pennsylvania on November 19, 2011
A: Yes, it's usable, but I never recommend any electric or gas-powered single stage snow blowers for gravel surfaces. The auger paddles on these models engage the surface being cleared of snow, so you will throw not only the snow, but small rocks and stones from your driveway as well. by Kriss, Product Expert

I used my 16" model yesterday for the first time. The snowfall was 4" of light fluffy snow. I purchased this blower because my doctor prescribed "no more snow shoveling" for my 77 year old body. I was surprised to find that pushing the model 26022 into snow takes more effort and resultant heart strain than a light weight ergonomic shovel. I actually had to kick the axle to enable forward movement. Since there was no ice or packed snow to impede it, I find the lack of forward propelling assist by the impeller (which was a feature of my last light duty one stage gas model blower) makes the model 26022 a poor choice for users with a heart condition.

My Green works story
Ordering and delivery & setup were great. Snow here in Washington (Western) only comes a few times a year, but where we live, you better be prepared. Dumped 1 1/2 feet last night! Blower works great and throws a good distance in dry snow!!! Once it starts to warm up, doesn't like it-clogs, clogs!! You have to get on top of it and start early or when temp is down and there is powder snow. Other thing, it does not like snow 12 inches or above--You have to do a lot of pushing, but still does the job.
I still like the lightweight feature, and would recommend getting out in the snow (Not Waiting until morning), eats up the 2-4 inch powder stuff and get used to the cords--something you have to do with electrics, but not big of a deal with some long cords and pulling them over drifts. Also found that if you wait until next days freeze, you can work certain area's and depths pretty good. Main advice, put some warm stuff on and get with it early and don't let it get deep!! Better to get at it a couple times.

Read The Directions
This is the cutest machine we have ever seen. It is 24 lbs as advertised. I created a problem for myself by skimming the directions instead of reading them. MISTAKE. The handle and the snow directional shaft are the only parts I had to put together. The directions tell you to put the bottom and middle handles together and then attach the top handles to the middle ones. What I did was try and fit the snow throwing directional handle shaft on first. If you do this, the midhandle will not reach the screws holes at the bottom.
To do it correctly, you have to take the nut off the directional shaft (it is attached to the middle handle. If you don't nothing will fit. Take it off and put the shaft aside with the nut. Put the mid and upper handles in place with the big bolts. (just like the directions tell you to do it). THEN put the shaft in place. It has one screw at the top and one lynch pin at the bottom. It has a protector ring that will move to put it into place. If you don't take the bolt off and fit it last, you will stand there with the mid handles 1 12" too short to match the screw holes toward the bottom. I did that several times. STUPID. I was on hold for tech support when I read the directions.
Machine is darling. We test ran it as we have no snow yet. Sounds great. Looking forward to using it.

new electric snow blower
There was a big storm here (snow storm) and I tried to use my new snowblower. It was kind of hard to push and it overheated very fast and would turn itself off. The snow fall was a very heavy one so maybe that was it.

Great Performance With An Even Better Price
This is a pretty good snowblower for the price. I have used this snowblower twice and I believe it works quite well. In a snow storm blizzard situation you would have to stay on top of it. You should not let the snow go above 6 or 7 inches. I have adjusted to using the electric cord pretty well. The only limitation, the auger is plastic and hard ice would not be a good idea to try and tackle with this type of blower.
But all in all a it is a well-built machine, just use good judgment on what you tackle with it. I use it for the whole driveway pretty much but near the entrance where plows usually throw large chunks of ice, I use the shovel. But hey, it beats shoveling 2 or 3 hours a clip. I am so impressed I plan on upgrading to the Worx electric snowblower. You know metal auger rubber tipped. When I buy the Worx I will pass this one on to a friend.
I get some of the strangest looks from people driving by like what is that! I am just waiting for someone to ask.
I told some of my co-workers about your product and many never knew that electric snow blowers are available. I hope the option catches on.

amazing machine !
The snowblower arrived very fast and it was in perfect condition. This machine was well above my expectations. Ordering online can sometimes end up in disaster, but not this time!
My husband was beyond pleased with it. It's light weight so its easier to handle. It worked perfectly for what he needs it for. It's so awesome we keep it locked up so no one can take our fantastic machine.
Gotta say thank you for being there for me to order the snowblower. Not one store in my town had one due to the recent winter storms that blanketed the North East. I would happily tell all our friends about Snow Blowers Direct. Best online ordering experience in a while so again we thank you !

Perfect for a cold, dry Kansas snow
I received my GreenWorks blower a day before we received a 4-5 inch snow. Once I got use to using the blower with the extension cord I completed my drive and walk and then went and completed two of my neighbors drives.
It work great. I live in a maintenance-free neighborhood but they only plow if the snow is 4 plus inches. They decided that this snow didn't qualify. The GreenWorks did a great job but I must admit I hope I never have to use it again. I figure it will never snow again now that I have a way to get rid of it. Thanks

6' is too tall for this
Powerful yet ergonomically uncomfortable...unless one is 4' tall. Would like to see handle with an adjustable length for those of us who are taller. We bought this to help with our bad backs and it would have been just as painful to shovel the old fashioned way....

Good Electric Blower
1. Your product was delivered on time and was extremely well packaged.
2. While unloading the box with its parts, the styrofoam began to mutate into thousands of little static clinging little pieces.....I'm still picking pieces off places and it's been about two weeks since delivery.
3. Read the directions carefully, and started to put the pieces together......it took me a bit longer than most since I'm PA Dutch......however, the directions were great....UP TO A POINT!!!!
4. I started to put the two pieces of the handles together, attaching it to the main frame......darn thing just wouldn't fit, since the auger metal directional piece was much too long and couldn't fit it into the main frame of the blower.....after about 20 minutes, I decided to unscrew the directional handle from the handle unit and slid the rubber washer forward and "Voila" it all came together. The directions never mentioned unscrewing the directional piece from the handle section!!!!! Ya gotta mention that in your directions......
5. Once I got everything together, the blower looks extremely well-built, and I did start it up and it seems to be ready for snow......good news, bad news no snow yet here in Allentown, PA.
6. I did purchase a 100' weather electric cord appropriate for the unit and what I need the blower for should be easy enough for this model....hope, hope.
7. Greenworks is sold in our local stores, but not this specific model, and I'm not real comfortable with mail order items of this size, but there were no blowers available of this level and quality locally, so I took a chance.
8. Another very nice plus was no shipping or sales tax.
9. I realize the styrofoam is probably the best solution for shipping, but it's a real pain.
10. Overall......at this point in time, I give it a 95...............the other 5% will be when I actually use it!
