Love My Husqvarna
This has to be the best Snow Blower I have ever owned. I am very pleased with the performance of this Snow Blower. With this powerful engine which has no quit, I am guaranteed to cut into drifts with the use of the drift cutter and the Weight Bar as this machine refuses to be denied.
I just do not overdo it as the machine seems so hungry to equal to the task. I am very pleased with this Snow Blower and I expect to have it around for a long time. Thank You Snow Blower Direct. I do recommend this snow blower and I have recommended this exact model to my Dentist who was also looking for a good Snow Blower.

Let it Snow!
I've had the opportunity to use my new "Husky" five times now. It is one awesome machine! It is extremely well built, user friendly and very easy to learn how to operate. My drive is about 700' long with a slight incline so the self propelled feature is awesome. I have the drive blown in less than 45 minutes. While "Husky" is a large machine, it is very easy to use and manage.... even for a girl The electric start is great and even the hand pull is very manageable. The hand triggers for directional change makes it very easy to turn around and get those hard to reach places. The amount of power it has for any kind of snow is amazing. The really heavy build up at the end of the drive is a piece of cake with this unit. Even the heavy, wet snow is no match for "Husky". The controls are conveniently placed, easy to use and being able to shoot the snow 45' away is a plus. At first, I laughed at the headlight however it has been very handy to blow the drive off after work in the dark. The only suggestion I would have for Husqvarana is to slightly modify it's placement since chute is in the way of the light. Other than that, I wish I lived in a regular neighbor hood as I'd be doing everyones driveway.

This machine is a beast!
We've had two snow storms and this machine plowed right through the heavy wet snow with no problem.
The extra $50 is worth for lift-gate service. Power cord not necessary as it comes with one already. This is great well worth the price.

Husqvarna-
Overall price and snowblower direct was good. The extra $50.00 for lift gate service was well worth it. Very well build machine. The only problem is the throttle. It runs full throttle all the time. Becareful when turning at full throttle it throws you. It needs some kind of throttle down kit.

Big Step Up
Our driveway is over 400 feet long, and I struggled for years with an underpowered 5hp snowblower. Now with 12 horses under my control I feel confident I can move the results of just about any snowstorm.
This is a well-built machine that so far performs to my expectations.
Only criticisms are that the headlight is a bit useless at night especially in blowing snow, the power of this machine can be overwhelming if you aren't careful, and constantly pushing down the control levers to unlock them and change speed and throwing direction is a hassle.
Also, an engineer in need of a challenge should invent a protection system other than shear pins. I always pop these things and changing them in blowing snow is not my idea of fun.
Overall, snowblower technology is pretty basic: you pick it up and throw it as far as you can. This machine has a pretty powerful arm! I don't think you'll find much better.

How do I stop the front end from jumping and get it to "cut" down to the driveway?
I have adjusted the skids to different heights, but when I stop the chattering it leaves two-three inches of snow on the driveway.
Unfortunately I started to snowblow late after a three footer and the drive was packed down somewhat but I never had this issue with my Snapper.
Sorry guys but I miss my other machine. This thing is a beast and should do a better job without wrestling the thing.
SUGGESTIONS anyone?
SBD RESPONDS: The first thing you will want to try is a front weight kit. You can attach it to the front of your blower and it will keep the auger bucket from kicking up when it experiences deep snow. This should make it much easier to snow blow closer to the surface of your drive and you won't have to raise the skid shoes.

A friend directed me to this web site. I looked at a few different snow throwers and wound up going with the Husqvarna, which had lot of power for a great price.
The purchasing of the snow thrower was easy as can be. I went with the bill me later option which cost me two hundred a month for six months.
The shipping was fast and fairly priced I received the Husqvarna about four days after I purchased it. The trucking company put it in my backyard.
As I was taking it out of the crate I noticed one of the knobs was missing. I called up Snow Blowers Direct, told them what happened, they said no problem and redirected me to Husqvarna. When I spoke to the rep at Husqvarna I explained to him what happened. The rep said no problem, he would send me one out right away and he did. There was a package on my front stoop three days later.
I WOULD RECOMMEND SNOW BLOWERS DIRECT TO ANYONE WHO'S IN THE MARKET FOR ONE.

Bad Handles
I ordered the model 1830hv. The picture is different then the model i received. Do not order this model, it has u-shape handles you can't even put hand grips on.

Wonderful Husqvarna
Received and assembled machine, no problems and I really appreciated the free shipping. The first use of the new machine went as wonderfully expected.
However, the plastic piece that the discharge chute sits on top of cracked and needs replacement. I contacted your customer service department and ordered the part. Currently, I am waiting for the replacement part and I expect installation of this replacement part to be quite easy.

Update on My Shipping Charge for Lift-Gate Service.
As I mentioned below in my review of the purchase and set-up of my Husqvarna 1830HV, The delivery service was not able or did not want to deliver the box to my home, so they dropped it off at our local Husqvarna Dealer who then loaded it onto my truck for no charge. I called SnowBlower Direct and requested a refund of the $50 'Lift-Gate Service Charge'. It took only two days for the refund to appear on my Credit Cart 'activity' online. Thanks for the good service with no questions about it...they just did the right thing.
About the delivery service. I have some sympathy for the driver, unfamiliar with this part of Indiana, trying, or rather deciding not to try to negotiate the rural roads here with his 40 foot trailer. However, As soon as I got home with my new machine, A local modular house sales service delivered the two sections of a large modular home to it's new location down the street from me. They sure didn't seem to have any trouble getting those 65 foot length "half-Homes" around the curves and corners. I guess the city-drivers are more cautious than the locals out here !
Another update will be coming when the snow finally arrives, Stay Tuned.

it was ok
I got this snow blower this year. I like it but I could not get the gas cap off so my dad had to work on. Husqvarna sent me a new gas cap. All in all, it was a good buy and it's a nice looking snow blower.

No Snow Yet but off to a good start
Ordered my 1830HV on Sept.14, got a couple of back-order notices, but it arrived today Sept 28. That's one good point. It still shows on the catalog page as a back-order til mid-October.
The counterpoint happened when the shipping service couldn't get their large semi out to my home for the pre-paid 'lift-gate service. They left the machine at the local Husqvana Dealer about 5 miles away. So I go down to the dealer, and he loads the box and pallet onto my pickup. I have requested a credit for my $50 lift-gate delivery, but we'll see if they 'remember' to do it.
My neighbor and I got the box off my truck using some car-ramps he had. We did the assembly work together using the instruction book, poured in some gas (after checking the oil, which was just right from the factory) then plugged in the electric start. I anticipated several tries before getting the new engine to start, but not so !!! One touch of the start button (a second long at most) and it fired right up. A quick choke adjustment and it was smooth as silk. One thing I found different is that the engine speed is constant...you adjust the rate of travel using the "gears" not the throttle! We practiced a little tonight (70 degree evening) to get the feel for the steering (good) the auger and drive-speed controls (bulky, but all works well).
Now we'll see how it handles when the snow shows up. By the way, this is the 414 cc LCT Chinese engine, rated at 12 horsepower. We had some concern about the endurance of these motors, and will report again later about how it holds up. All in all, a lot of snow blower for $1200, delivered.
