 Good Snowblower but two things I don't like

Joy-stick for chute hard to operate. Gears are too fast. You will only need to use first and second gear. The rest are too fast, you have to run behind to keep up with those gears. Overall well made snow blower.

I was real pleased with the machine until the auger quit turning. I took it to a local MTD service man and he took the auger drive gear box apart and it was shot. He said that it appeared to be caused by lack of lubrication. He also stated that there isn't any way of greasing the gear box other than taking it apart, which is not a job for the average owner, but for a factory person to do. I purchased this machine new, and it is only two years old.  Really good machine

When I bought this snow blower, I wasn't planning to buy this one but because all the stores around me were out of snow blowers I had no choice. This was the only snow blower available. It was a little more money than I was expecting to spend, but with the snow storm coming I took the chance. It turned out to be a really good snow blower, no problems. Did more than what I was expecting.

 MTD Gold 26" snowblower

The MTD Gold (26") snowblower does a real good job of throwing snow but I have a problem with the chute staying were I aim it. The up and down and side to side (locked positions) don't hold. This is only the second year of use for this machine.
