BEAST OF THE EAST
This year after receiving over 38" of snow, I decided to start shopping for a snowblower. Never had one, but always wanted to get one. I knew i was late in ordering, but went online in Jan, 2011 to see if I could get one.
Found this site, shopped around it and found a Murray 24" that looked like a beast! Great price, shipping was free and it came to my house within a week. Opened, started right up, ripped through the 30"of snow and ice like a champ!
Don't know why I have waited so long to buy one.

Blizzard 2010-2011
This snow thrower is like pac-man with snow. It throws snow about 15 to 20 feet away. Very impressed. Order it very early before the storms hit so that you won't have delivery problems.

A blower upgrade
This winter has been difficult for the whole country, and when my existing snow blower died I began with a local search and found nothing available except for the extremes, only small or professional level machines were still available. Next was an online search of all the home improvement sources, again nothing was left available in a mid level machine. It seemed the whole country had sold out with this difficult winter.
Then I found Snow Blowers Direct. And even they only had a few left. After reading all the specs and reviews I settled on the Murray 24" 205cc Two Stage Snow Blower. And It was back-ordered. The company did keep me well advised and beat the back order date shipping to me two days early.
The machine arrived promptly and the delivery driver was great. I will say the way these machines are packaged they are heavy and awkward to handle without a dolly and help. The Machine uncrates and assembles easily and once on it's wheels is no problem to maneuver.
We just had the mega snow storm sweep across the country and we were fortunate to only get nine inches and that was it's first use. I do my walks and driveway and many of the neighbors. So the machine and I were busy for three hours the first time out.
The temp was below zero and with the electric start there was no problem. I read reviews on some machines complaining of the method used to direct the discharge chute, This one is a crank and it works great. I also read complaints about the muffler noise levels, I had no objection to mine. The machine handled the nine inches with no problem and cut through the grader windrows which had a lot of ice in them. So bottom line I am pleased with both the company and the machine and would recommend it to anyone looking at the mid level machines.

Saved by Murray
I just departed from an older craftsman snow blower and purchased the Murray. Just in time for the 3rd largest snow storm to hit Chicago. I started snow blowing today with my neighbor buddy who has a Troy Bilt (not USA Briggs) engine.
We blew snow from 8:30 a.m to 2:30 p.m. non stop. Unfortunately my buddy broke down on the last driveway, I finished that one and one other before I had to call it quits. I missed my old craftsman, until I used this Murray. This is a simple, powerful, straight-forward machine with a great B&S 204, that cuts through about 4' to 5' feet of drifts and built up plow wake. We can still make em.

A Strong Machine
I already had a nice 24 inch showblower from a big box store but the engine was very troublesome. We had it repaired several times and had finally replaced the carburetor. Still, when the snow flew, it would not start easily or run strong while blowing snow. It took many minutes with the electric starter to bring it to life. Finally it started but it coughed and sputtered all the way while blowing snow. When I looked into replacing the engine with a name brand engine I found it was "special" and could not be changed. I had an expectation that was not what I had spent my money for and I was fearful of getting another lemon from another big box store.
After searching the local stores, the Snow Blowers Direct Web site offered a snow blower with a name brand unit with a name brand engine. The free shipping made it the same price as a house brand no name engine unit locally. I ordered it.
The new snowblower arrived just before a big snow storm. I added oil and gas and it started on the first pull of the starting cord and did not need the electric start. It ran strong through several hours of clearing snow from my and my neighbors driveways.
It was such a pleasure to use a machine with a real Briggs & Stratton engine that just kept going strong all the time. This is what I expected when I spent my money. The online purchase was simple and quick: nice easy to use Web site.

Effortless starting Briggs engine and sturdy design
I bought my Murray 24" machine last month (Dec 10'). After having problems with a not so old other brand snow blower that had a tecumseh, I just wanted a good old Briggs. No bells and whistles, but to me that stuff is just more to break. I love this little unit and it runs great.
Very happy with my decision. Used it twice already this winter, and it did NOT disappoint. Looking forward to having it for a long time. I recommend this product to anyone that wants a sturdy, well built, and simple to use piece of snow removal equipment.

monster
I had recently bought my Murray blower right after the blizzard of December, 2010. Shoveled for 6 hours at my house and my two elderly neighbors that i always shovel out.
Now this storm that we just had 1/12/11 wasn't too bad only about 10 inches or so. This machine took it down like a champ. My house, my two neighbors' and about 6 houses long on the city sidewalk all less then an hour. Wow, where were you the last 5 years I had this house?
Thank you Murray for a great machine...... Staten Island New York..

Best Company Ever
I must tell you that this is the best company I have ever dealt with. I was a little concerned when my snowblower was back-ordered but I was informed immediately and kept aware of my order status. Communication was excellent.
Shipment was handled quickly and delivery was right on time with tracking all the way. Great delivery company. You were able to deliver what the chain stores could not. I don't know how you were able to do it but you did.
Your prices were very good and selection excellent. You are number one on my list and I would never hesitate to buy anything you sell.

Nice Machine
I have never had a 2-cycle snow thrower before so I really don't have anything to compare it to. I have used the Murray 3 times so far and I'm very satisfied. It starts very easily with the electric start (one push of the button) and I have used the pull start once which seemed easy too. The machine feels very sturdy and I like that it has very little plastic parts so it seems more durable. The machine is easy to maneuver and it does a great job in clearing the snow. Having to reach down to change speeds is not very difficult and I'm 6'2". I would recommend this machine.

Great Purchase
I purchased this Murray snowblower just in time for the 2010 blizzard in NYC. This blower cleared through 16-20 inches of powdered snow with ease. I even managed to clear a few spots with snow drifts of 24+ inches. Great buy!

Best value ever!
I bought my Murray 24" snowblower about ten years ago. It has gobbled up the largest drifts and wettest snows every year (and I live in Minnesota).
The best part is that the only "maintenance" I have ever performed is putting Sta-bil in the gas tank every spring. And after all these years, it still looks like brand new.
Lastly, it almost always starts on the first pull, unless I forget to set the choke. I suppose that it will last another ten years of maintenance-free snow removal. Thanks Murray!

We've had 2 storms with 6 inches of wet snow and it work great. Buy USA BRIGGS.
No lack of HP, works good. Here in northern South Dakota we never know what's coming up next. I put chains on off and older snow blower which helps.

Belt Trouble
I put the snowblower together in time for the snowfall, but when I went to use it I had no traction drive. Come to find out the traction belt was not on the pulley so I had to empty all the fuel, turn it upside down and fight with a belt for several hours that was stuck between the pulley and the friction plate.
Then after I got that working I used it on the first snowfall and the auger belt broke so needless to say, this has been a frustrating two weeks. Now I need to order new belts already and I've only had this machine 2 weeks and used it only once.
Living in Chicago I need it to work more than one time. It's very unfortunate.

I bought this snowblower after we received 20+ inches of snow. I ordered on a Tuesday, and it arrived on Sunday. Fast service from Snowblower Direct.
I used it once to clear a sidewalk and worked great. It was easy to put together. No real bells and whistles, but easy to use, since this is my first snowblower.
I just wish I had it before, as you can see with picture which was done by shovel. Can't wait until the next big one, hopefully this year, but probably won't be for another 10 years.

Thank You from the bottom of my heart
You people are amazingly wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just ordered a snow blower from you 2 days ago and my elderly father just received it now , less than 48 hours from ordering.
I wish I heard of you before dealing with the horrific customer service with a large national chain store.
Thank You from the bottom of my heart, and thank you for sending this snow blower to my Dad before his heart gave out.
He lives outside of Pittsburgh, his snow blower died and he has been shoveling snow for the last 2 weeks by hand.
Thanks for being so great!

Good machine but...
The Murray snowblower is an excellent machine.
The Briggs engine and the sturdy assembly makes is a strong tool. You get the best for your money but no perks.
The lever to change your speed is in the lower back of the engine meaning that you have to get down every time to change from forward to reverse, and the chute has to be operated manually.
You also have to stop the machine completely in order to change gears.
