Not tough enough

I bought one of these before a big snow and experienced the same drifting in the steering. I also agree that the speeds are too fast.

The chute cable freezes up sometimes too. The bottom plate is plastic and the first chunk of ice I hit at the end of the driveway cracked it.

The drive lever requires you to push down to shift and it is very hard to do. The same goes for the chute direction lever.

I had a smaller MTD before this one and it performed as well. The Poulan augers don't seem handle wet snow and it packs around the blades. Sorry, but I am not impressed.

sorry snowblower

I bought it on Saturday, then used it on Sunday in about 2 " of snow.

It would not go straight. I had to feather the steering to try to keep it straight.

Also, the lowest forward speed was about medium speed compared to my old MTD. If I would go into a stiffer drift it would stop and spin the tires right away. Then I would have to push it into the drift to get it to blow.

It probably would be good on total powder snow. If I could get a new MTD just like my old one I probably would trade the Poulan in a heartbeat.

The only bad thing about the MTD was the thickness of the metal on the intake- it bent too easily.
