The Ariens ST28DLE Pro two-stage snow blower is ideal for heavy residential or commercial use. This model is capable of clearing an area of up to 2,000 sq ft in under an hour and can easily handle snowfall totals of 12" or more.

The Ariens ST28DLE is powered by a 420cc Ariens Polar Force engine (made by Briggs & Stratton). Fire this machine up in just a few seconds using the 120-volt electric start system. The large 5.9 quart fuel tank will give you close to 90 minutes of... more

This Thing Is A Moose.
I decided to sell my truck and plow after having plows for the last 30 years here in up-state NY. I have a very old Ariens snow blower from around 1975. It still works OK but I've only used it for the walkway and patio and to cut some trails in the back yard so the dog can run and do her business. I did a lot of research before I decided on the Ariens Por 28". Ordered it on line and it shipped in a day or two. There was a little delay by the trucking company because I'm in a very rural... more

Very Powerful
Got Ariens Pro 28" last year, only used it twice, and both times accumulation was less than 6 inches. Last week we got over two feet of snow and I was thrilled to have this bad boy in my garage.

Cut through the snow like butter, including the 4-5 foot pile of snow and ice the plow left at the bottom of my driveway. Throws snow wherever you want, easy to maneuver and runs like a champ. I guess it's a bit pricey, but worth every penny when there is a big snow storm.

Ariens 28" Professional
I am very happy with purchase. Snow Blowers Direct is a great outfit. The extra charge for lift gate is a must, unless you own a fork lift--upwards of 300 lbs. The delivery guy was wonderful. I recently built a ramp into my barn/workshop and he wheeled it right up the ramp in front of my work bench, certainly did not have to do that.

Machine appears well made and it took about an hour to put together, not difficult, but I watched a couple UTUBE videos in advance. I made two errors, my fault... more

Not For The Faint At Heart
SnowBlowersDirect.Com was right on the money to get me set up with a 926038. When they say the delivery will be on Thursday, buddy, it will be. My unit went from IL to WV, and there they transferred it to another trucking outfit who KNEW IN THEIR HEART not to ship it down to Eastern KY on a 53-foot Tractor/Trailer combo rig, 'cause I will tell you, I know NOBODY who lives in a place a tractor trailer can get to. So they repacked it on a straight job and got 'er down here 2 days after the... more

"Originally I was looking for a Toro 28, "size 11." But when I called SBD, the YL on the horn said they were fresh out, and, "Why'n the Hell you need such a big unit fer?" So I told her about Eastern KY (mountains), and she asked if I would consider an alternative, and that Ariens was made in the USA. She tried to sell me a 264cc, but that's too small a motor, and then we went with the 926038, (420cc). I told her I was looking at two feet of snow from my door to the Bronx, and how fast could she get one here and she said "Thursday," and she wasn't lying. It took some traking to keep my eye on it, because I know every other hillbilly around here's got their eye on it, like a stagecoach full of gold going through the badlands.... Thursday it was, by gum, and right after lunch. Backed right up to the door and tailgated it right into the machine shop, and helped yank the pallet, too."

Beast Mode
Although I've only used this machine twice so far, I can say it is by far the nicest snowblower I've ever used. It's almost as though you're actually happy to be clearing snow. Heated hand grips work great, as does the auto steer feature, and the electric start.

Fires up with ease and is ready to perform in seconds. My driveway is approximately 300 feet long with a parking area that can easily accommodate 12 vehicles, and it takes me less than one hour to completely remove the snow from the... more

Do Your Homework!
For thirty years, I either shoveled to keep in shape or used a snow thrower to assist. When I bought my house in 2007 I realized shoveling a 175' driveway was not going to have much appeal.

I did my homework and found that Ariens model 926038 could handle anything Mother Nature throws at us. Now, I do my driveway and the sidewalks in less than 20 minutes with ease.

This machine by far is the machine for a homeowner due to its durability and relentless power. I pull to start and not once... more

Blows Everything Away ---------
To start off, this is my 3rd snowblower. My first one is an electric Black and Decker - used it for one season and gave it away. Then I got a 24" 5.5hp 2 stage from Sears 5 years ago (about $600). It works fine, only problem is with wet snow, always got jammed and stuck. Both blowers are for use at my house. So, I am not a newb. Now I have a small office building myself. I need something powerful enough to clean my 14 cars packing lot, darn long driveway and sidewalk.

Snow Monster
I live high on the East bench of Salt Lake City / Bountiful. I have a long and quite steep driveway. When I moved in my neighbors recommended I buy the best snow thrower I could find. After extensive research I decided on this one. Here are my thoughts:

Pros:
-Made in the USA
-Quality: This thing is built like a tank and appears to be over-engineered in a lot of areas. There is nothing that looks or feels cheap about this machine, and I expect it will be around for a long time.

Powerful Blower For Deep And Heavy Snow
I ran a Snapper 8HP for 16 years on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe. A basic, durable, reliable machine that was used heavily until it basically wore out.

I decided to up the horsepower and purchased the 28" 420cc Ariens Pro Model. The machine has exceptional power. Our snowfalls are measured in feet, not inches, of heavy, dense, often wet snow. With even the most powerful motors, 1/3 and 1/2 box wide passes at the lowest forward speed is required to maintain engine RPM's.

I purchased the Ariens Professional ST28DLE (28") 420cc Two-Stage Snow Blower in Aug of 2012. I took advantage of the discounts. I had a Track MTD for 20 years and work well but slow. I just figured it was time to upgrade.

I did a lot research and settled on Ariens Professional ST28DLE (28") 420cc. I am so glad I did because the Ariens machine is a 10 times better machine than what I had before.

Didn't Last One Storm
Bought new in Nov 2011. Assembled and filled with fresh, high octane, stabilized gas. Started it up and it seems to run ok. Never got a chance to use it that winter because we didn't get any snow. In march 2012, I ran it dry and put it in storage for the summer. In December 2012, took it out of storage and filled it with fresh, high octane, stabilized gas. Started it up and it ran a bit rough. It ran fine for the first 30 minutes of its first storm a few weeks later and then started to... more

" Old In Minnesota "
This is the second Ariens snow thrower I've owned. I had the first one for 31 years and it is still earning its keep as a hand me down. I found myself needing a snow blower that would throw snow further than the old one as my driveway changed from 900 sq feet to 6000 sq feet. When I started looking for a new blower I checked out products from several manufactures, Cub, Toro, MTD, Husqvarna and Ariens. The Ariens is a great blend of function, features and POWER. I also found the metal... more

Powerful
The Ariens Snowblower is absolutely incredible with power to spare and clears 10" inches of snow in my 2500 sq. foot paved driveway in one hour flat. The only problem was during shipping this heavy machine, it had damage which I could not tell right upon inspection off the truck however ten days later when I finally got to assembling it I noticed then the muffler was caved down, the mufflers cover and choke switch was broken. So right then and there I called Snow Blowers Direct, had... more

Carburator Chokes Out In Heavy Snow
I just purchased the Ariens Professional ST28DLE 28 420cc, this September. On December 15, 2013, our first snow storm in Connecticut. After starting the machine it began to choke out in 6" of snow. I was able to finish the job, but it was slow going. The machine wanted to shut off. I am sad that I have to use my warranty already. I will call the dealer and see what they can do for me.

Fantastic Blower!
I got this in September 2013 because my old blower needed a break. Had knee surgery in November and hadn't had much snow to that point, but shortly after surgery, we got hit and hit hard. My wife got out the new blower and cut through the snow, including the piles left by the snow plows at the end of a triple wide driveway, like a hot knife through butter! And man, does this beast get the snow out of the way. It easily tosses that white stuff well into the yard, so you don't have to worry about... more

Snow Blower Heaven
After the winter we had 2 years ago and the prediction of the same winter this year I decided to get a bigger, badder snow blower. I have learned from past mistakes to not buy "cheap" but to buy quality. After about a month of research I decided on a model from Ariens.

I currently had a two-stage 4 hp - 20" Toro that was a nightmare on wheels. Lack of power and reliability were a problem. I wanted more power, a little wider swath and more reliability. I decided on the PRO 28... more

Move That Snow
I am power hungry and will overpower before under-powering. Had the first decent snow of 8". Moved snow from 1 driveway on the side of my house and 2 in front of my house, all to one area which entailed throwing 2 times from side, and across both in the front. If it wasn't for the wind I could have thrown it over the front of my house, but I had to keep the deflector down to avoid blow back from the wind.

Went to a friends house and used a residential Toro 2 stage later that day. I... more

I researched allot of machines before I settled on buying this one. I looked at them all. It is Feb15th 2015 and I live just outside Boston Ma. We have 5 feet on the ground and woke to another 2 feet in my driveway. My old Toro can not reach the top of the 7 to 8 foot banks, so I hired a person that came in with the Ariens 28" pro.

Blizzard 2013
I bought this last year, 2012, and never really got to use it.

But, this year we got pounded in MA and the Ariens performed extremely well. So, I did my driveway, 3 neighbors' driveways and a sidewalk with almost 30" of snow (and drifts up to 40") in about 2 hours.

The hand warmers are great. You can't go wrong with this model!

This is my first snow blower but I was able to do my treacherous driveway after the blizzard we just had in under 20 minutes. Has made snowstorms a non-issue. I can reach my neighbors yard with the snow!

Only complaint is that the high speed reverse is not that fast, wish it was quicker.

Living in the northeast, the winters can bring a lot of snow and this year was no different. My old blower gave out during the first snow storm, in early January, and service wasn't available for at least one month. I have a big driveway and wasn't taking any chances during that time.

Very Nice Snowblower That Really Blows The Snow!
I've used my snow blower several times now, including during Detroit's biggest singe snowfall ever (16.7") and it does a GREAT job of moving the snow.

I don't have a comparison to know if a lesser machine would do as well, but I have almost no complaints about this one.

The only thing I would change is that the light is sometimes blocked by the discharge chute, depending on the position but it still works pretty well and I definitely wouldn't want a snow blower without a light.

This is a great machine. Starts on the 1st or 2nd pull and goes through snow easily and quickly. I've usually been able to do my 400+ ft driveway in 20-30 minutes. Last week's storm dumped 12+ inches and I was able to get down to the pavement after a few passes. Does a much better job than the plow guy and I don't have to wait all day for the driveway to get done. So glad I spent extra for the commercial grade model. Very easy to operate and steer. Before I had this Ariens snow blower, I had an 1959 AMF polar bear snowblower. It was good; but as time went on, the parts were hard to find. I had to resort to fabricating new pieces.

Mr. Stanley T Gaj
For the last 20 years or so an Ariens Snow Blower has taken care of all of my snow removal needs. This year, New England dumped the largest amount of snow in many years in New England and my old machine tried its hardest to keep up but finally broke down under the massive snow load.

A quick call to my local dealer sent the unit in to be repaired and resulted in the unpleasant news that the machine was so old that many of the key parts were no longer available. This was not a big surprise... more

Hard To Teach An Old Dog New Tricks
I have spent 35 years with a big John Deere two-stage and compared to this Ariens the Deere is one heck of a lot easier to run.

The forwarf handle on the Ariens sticks up in the air too far to be able to maneuver in tight quarters. The gear shift has all those notches and detents, where the Deere was all a straight line.

There is also no reason to have two reverse speeds. On the old Deere when you engaged the auger it stayed engaged; on the Ariens it pops out when the other lever is let... more

My New Snowblower
After this last winter with a sears 6 hp snow blower and a snow plow, I purchased an Ariens Pro ST28DLE 420cc. This machine is a monster. I don't care when it snows I know this machine will do the job. It was also a pleasure working with Snow Blowers Direct they delivered three weeks ahead of time.

My New Snow Blower
Snow blower preformed very good, started very well. Handled extremely good on 10 inches of snow, as you probably read in the Chicago paper, Northern In. received a tremendous amont of snow this past week.

Had a small problem hooking the chutes up but finally figured it all out. The instructions are really written poorly for installation of cable hook up.

Test Drive Of New Ariens
The first test of this machine came a few days ago when a storm deposited 9 inches of snow on this area. I was at work that night so when I arrived home that morning the snow plows had added a lot more to my driveway for me to clear.

15 minutes later my double wide fifty foot driveway was clear of snow and I hadn't even broken a sweat. Since it was my first time operating the machine it took me a few minutes to get the hang of using the controls (drive, blow, chute direction, etc.).

Let The Snow Begin.
Just got through putting another coat of wax on my new ST28DLE. Can't wait for the next snowstrom. I take care of 3 other driveways beside my own. We are getting a lot more snow than usual. Snow is piling up, so I'm sure that higher snow chute will be a good addition. Thanks again for all your information. Having fun blowing snow in western Minnesota (Gaylord,Minn).

Takes A Licken And Keeps On Ticken
I bought mine brand new approximately 2004 and run it harder than average. The second year I picked up a very large rock and got it stuck in the impeller and bent the heck out of it. I tore it all apart and was able to straighten impeller and impeller shaft back to specs. I was able to do whole job without purchasing one single item, I would like to see any other snowblower that could take that kind of punishment.

What a snow blower! Lots of power, and easy to handle.

I wish I'd had one last year.

Great Customer Service
I received my Ariens Professional ST28DLE just before the really big snow storm. Unfortunately, it came without a snow chute so it had to sit out the big storm in the garage. Snow Blowers Direct has really good customer service and they were able to ship out a chute in just a couple of days. I was able to use the new machine a couple of times on lesser snows and it works GREAT! I'm sure there was huge demand for snow blowers last winter and it was really obvious to me that this company is... more

Aint No Beast
Already broke two sheer pins in 6 inches of snow...shoulda got a Craftsman instead.

Product Expert
Debra,
Typically this is a pretty easy fix. All you do is just replace those broken pins and the snow blower should be good to go again. If you need more shear pins or help of any kind, feel free to contact us at 800-710-7499.

Manufacturer Response
Brand Rep
Debra,
The Ariens Company is sorry the machine is not meeting your expectations. The shear pin is a safety device designed to shear in the case of a mechanical overload, preventing other, more expensive parts from being damaged. Although you consider them as broke, they are actually doing their job. These break when running into a hard object, like an ice chunk for example.

If you have any further questions for Ariens, please don't hesitate to contact us at 920.756.4688.

Lasted 1 Storm!!!!
Lasted one storm, I ran it till it was out of gas and stored it away. The next year it started and ran for 5 minutes and died. They say its the carb and the ethanol in the gas is too high. I am using high octane gas and buying from a legit station (EXXON). Extremely disappointed with this product after the amount of money I paid. I had to use my old SEARS Craftsman model that is 10 years old and still runs. I feed the SEARS the same gas with no problems. DO NOT THROW AWAY YOUR MONEY ON... more
