A Good Idea, Poorly Done.
When I got the roller skids for my Ariens I noticed right off that the wheels were plastic, not the metal I originally thought they were. Additionally they did not even appear to be nylon or other tough plastic.
They went on easily and were easy to adjust to spec. They worked great clearing my small sized smoothly paved driveway for two storms. Then in the third storm I noticed that the left side was dragging a bit but continued until the driveway was clear. I then found that the left... more

Roller Skids
I liked the initial ease of turning when using the roller skids, but after only three snowstorms something locked up one of the wheels and the pavement ground one side of the wheels all the way down to the roller skid body. I think having metal wheels that wouldn't oxidize would make the roller skid more functional and longer lifetime.

Same Story Here
Good idea poor performance. I also thought they were steel. I also liked the idea. Easy to install. 3rd storm to use them, they locked up and flat sided. Bad material.

Roller Skid Snow Blower Rollers
I have a 7 year old MTD snow thrower with a 9.5HP motor. The thing performs pretty well but the metal shoes are junk. They wear out after only 5 runs. Two years ago I found these aftermarket roller skid shoes. They make the snow thrower handle MUCH better. However, you must be careful that they do not get jammed up with ICE or they will get a flat spot on them. These wheels now last me the entire season but are totally shot at that time. It seems kind of silly that two little plastic wheels are... more

Wheels Are Low Quality
After initial installation, wheels work fine. However, when plowing through snow, the wheels would ice up and stop spinning. Subsequently, the wheels ground on the pavement leading to flat spotting. Wheels are made of ordinary plastic and do not last.

Cons: Low Quality, Durability, Expensive
