The perfect tool for residential use, the Toro 1800 Electric Power Curve snow blower is small in scale, but mighty in removing snow from driveways and walkways. The 1800 is also great for managing your large decks and patios so small pets or weight can be taken away from the structure without damaging it. Deep-cutting blades and powerful 15 amp electric motor move up to 700 pounds of snow per minute and can launch snow up to 30 feet. All while the adjustable chute puts that snow right where... more

Had foot surgery in October...moved our Power Shovel to a smaller master bedroom deck...my son has moved over 3 feet of snow off a 450 sq. ft. deck using the 1800 Power Curve with ease...nice dry snow.

Versatile For 20-25 Ft Driveways
We ordered the Toro 1800 in preparation of the epic storm Jonas that hit the DC metro area in January 2016. We didn't time it well so it arrived a week after due to most of the region (including deliveries) being shut down. When we received it, it helped to clear out the sidewalks that still had about 12" of snow (mixed with ice) with a little bit of effort - lesson learned, don't let snow sit for a week before attempting to clear it! :) Nonetheless, the Toro had enough power to help... more

Works Great
I live in Wisconsin and this electric snow blower works just fine in wet or dry snow. I did have gas power monster blowers but the fuel and weight of the machine I did not like. This electric blower is super light but will do the job and save your back.

Just Right
In Maryland we don't usually get a lot of snow at one time (although this year was an exception). The Toro does a really nice job and is easy to use. Great for almost all snows up to 6" - if it is heavy snow it struggles if it is deeper than that - it loves light snow and it clears right down to the pavement as long as there is no ice.
Pros: Light Weight, Easy To Store, Quiet
Cons: Sometimes You Wish You Had A Gas Model

A Must Have
I recently moved from MN to Colorado Springs. In February we received over a foot of snow in a particular storm. It was wet heavy snow. I have a bad back & made it worse trying to shovel. I received my Toro snow blower about a week after the snow storm.

Because of the way my house is situated the sun had not melted any of it. I cleared a 20 X 30 driveway in less than 2 hours. It was a foot deep & almost slush because of the temp. I was amazed. I want it to snow so I can use... more

Let It Snow
I am very concerned about our environment. I drive a hybrid car, I use a cordless electric mower and my most recent purchase was an electric snowblower. After doing extensive research I chose the Toro 1800 Power Curve snowblower.

With 15 amps of power and lots of torque this snowblower is just the answer for my needs. This was my first purchase with Snow Blowers Direct and I give them a 100% satisfaction rating! Courteous customer service and very fast shipping. I will certainly... more

So Far So Good
I bought the Toro after the last snowstorm. Tired of straining my back and spending hours shoveling. I used it for the first time today and was pretty impressed. It quickly plowed through about 6-8 inches of snow making quick work of my driveway, walk path, and sidewalk.

I felt so good after I finished I went ahead and took care of my neighbors' sidewalk, walk paths, and driveways as well. I definitely recommend this electric model for those who do not have lots of storage space for the... more

Great Little Machine Replaced Ariens Compact Pro 26
OK, so years ago I bought an 4-cycle Ariens Compactpro 26 from Snow Blowers Direct and frankly I loved the machine. It threw snow like nobody's business - but unfortunately my driveway is like on a 60 degree slope which resulted in me wrenching my back as I scrambled to push the thing up the hill even with the motorized drive, and half a dozen gears - further with just a little ice the weight of the thing would drag me down the drive way spinning like a drunk hanging on to a runaway stagecoach.... more

Expectations Achieved
Don't know why I've waited until I was 55 to buy a snow blower, but this thing is awesome. I'm sure that it is a good size for many types of properties, but it is perfectly suited for town house properties.

Lightweight, low space footprint, minimal maintenance. I saw this same model at Home Depot for about $60 more than I paid. Reduced my shoveling time by around 70%. Nice job, Toro!

Worth Every Penny!!!
I bought this snow blower after using an older model I borrowed during the huge snowstorm we had in January. The newer model is just as good and easy to use. I just used the new model for a 6 inch snow we received last night. It knocked out my driveway and walkway in about 20 minutes. It would have taken about 2 hours with a snow shovel.

The recent snow did tend to get clogged in the chute but I think that may be due to the snow being heavy and wet. Regardless, I would not trade this... more

Works Like A Champ!
It's small. It's light. Kind of "plasticy". But after the 21" we got a few weeks ago, I must say that this blower performed better than my expectations! I took it out after about 12" for the first time. Had to work it a little, but it blew the snow very well. You have to work it in two sections when the snow is that deep.

Get the top few inches then the bottom. During the storm I went out again after about 6" fell and it was easy. One pass all the way down my 90'... more

Pleasantly Surprised
I recently had the opportunity to use my Toro 1800 on January 23 2016 . I am from the Northeast and we had gotten clobbered with a 24 inch storm.

I went out several times to try and keep up with this storm. Though this machine was not purchased with this kind of storm in mind it more then held its own.

It was able to do my walkway and a single car driveway approximately 40 feet in length. The only area it could not handle was the end of driveway out in the street where the town snow plow... more

Great Snow Blower
I live in Maine. We have an unpaved driveway. The first year I got this we had about ten feet of snow. In other words, I use the product beyond what it's rated for. It worked great the first year. Second year it died.

I had bought the extra 2 year warranty from PED. Called them up. They didn't know what I was talking about and told me to bring it to the dealer. It comes with its own two year warranty, so Toro replaced it, no problem.

This will be my third year on the replacement. It... more

It Did The Job!
Didn't have a lot of use for it this winter with hardly any snow, but I did get to use it once. Had a 3' drift right outside of my door and I did get the job done with this light weight blower. My only worry, is the plastic blade, hoping it doesn't break if I hit something like a piece of ice.

And the bar that you have to hold, well, I kept losing my hold on it and would have to restart it. Also, it came unplugged so I will have to figure out some way to not pull the plug out. All in... more

Poor Quality Control
I received this snow blower in November of 2015. The unit arrived missing the bolt to hold the handle together. There were also three screws loose at the bottom of the box. These are the screws to hold the case together, but the case was screwed together and not missing any screws. When I picked the snow blower up, I could hear another screw rattling around inside.

I got permission from Snow Blowers Direct to open the case. I removed the wayward screw and all other spots appeared to... more

Jury Is Still Out But Pretty Disappointed
I've had just one opportunity to use the Toro 1800, but it was not a complete success. First, dealing with a very heavy and cumbersome power cord (12) during a snow storm was quite difficult. If there were some reasonable way to wind/unwind the extension that would help. Second, the Toro only threw the snow about 6 feet. Frankly, I assumed the stated 20-30 feet capacity was overly optimistic but I expected at least 10-15 feet.

Why is the jury still out you may ask. Since I have made a total... more

Problem From Factory
The power cable that runs between the handle and motor is too short. The blower (motor) must be attached to the handle. The cord is attached at both ends from the factory.

Had to remove the motor cover and loosen two screws, pull as much slack out of cable as possible to attach handle. Cable much too tight, wire inside will break in time. Guess I will rewire, too much trouble to return. Disappointed in Toro quality.

Great Little Tool
I had fairly low expectations, but I thought we could at least keep the sidewalk cleared with this blower. It turns out to be a much more useful tool to clear large areas of snow.

It blows the snow very far and had no problem going through 6-20" of snow. I like the fact that it is very light and easy to move around. The only small drawback is wrestling with the extension cord, but that is a small price to pay for the ease of clearing snow.

Save Your Money!!
Researched many sites and machines on the internet prior to making my decision that this was the machine for me. Purchased and received it in mid November 2015. NO SNOW until today (January 12, 2016). We had a snowfall of 1 1/2 inch. Not dry snow, but NOT wet either, just enough moisture to make a good snowball. This machine was terrible. It does NOT pick up the snow. I was just pushing it into a pile, with an occasional clump barley exiting the shoot.

Called the Toro company and was told... more

Richard,

I sincerely apologize for your disappointment in your purchase. From your description it does sound as though there was an issue with the unit as they are designed to pick up snow clear down to the pavement. While our return policy is 30 days from the date of purchase, if this unit did have a manufactured defect, your Toro warranty will cover the cost of repairs to the unit. Once again I do sincerely apologize and appreciate your honest review.

Don't Buy It
Handle knobs have to be retightened every 5 feet of snow clearing. Terrible one point of tension/support at the folding handle connection. I used it one time a gave up. A waste of $249 and another $80 on a winter cord. I wish I could return it and get my money back.
Pros: Light Weight
Cons: Durability, Low Quality, Difficult To Use

Hate It!!
I purchased this snow blower a couple of months ago, but we did not get any snow until this past week. I was glad to finally get to try out this snow blower, so I was very surprised when I was spending more time with this snow blower than I would be shoveling the snow. In the short time that I used the snow blower ,I had to restart it about 40 to 50 times. The blue button that is the key, used to start the motor will not keep the motor running. You start it, and some of the time, it stops as... more

Toro 1800 Power Curve® Electric (18") 15-amp Snow Blower
I actually bought this snowblower as a gift for my mother who lives in North Dakota but it hasn't snowed enough yet for her to really use it. Actually, after I sent her the gift we got at least 10 or 12 inches here in Colorado and it made me think I sent it the wrong direction! My brother did try it out on the lawn though which did have snow and he was very impressed at how far it threw the snow and that it compared to his gas powered blower!

Service-wise, I was very satisfied with Snow... more

This Machine Rocks!
I am a 48 year old female and I was sick of shoveling. I bought this machine and now I have a really black and blue butt from kicking myself everytime I use it. Why? Because I should have bought this 10 years ago when I moved to the mountains. All that shoveling and getting so sore and tired out from it- what a waste of time and energy!

This little machine arrived on my doorstep in a few days and was assembled in 15 minutes- it had all of 4 bolts. I plugged her in and away we went. The... more

Ok Until The Snow Is Compacted And Wet
I've owned this model for 5 years. It has generally done the job for us, especially with lighter fluffy snow, but now that we are dealing with our worst winter ever here in MA (Jan-Feb 2011), as the snow gets deeper and more saturated with freezing rain, it became necessary to carve away slices with a shovel first, then use the Toro to blow it into our yard which has now piled up 3 feet (notice top of snow marker in photo. We have even more where we used to have somebody plow it, but we have no... more

Easy To Handle, Easy To Store, Quiet Fast High Quality
A friend has one after a heavy storm that blocked his front porch, he could not open his door, so he removed the storm door glass insert and threw the Toro 1800 outside and climbed out and proceeded to blow through 36" of snow.

Another friend had a tracked monster, but the engine would not start.

So, I called around and all the Toro 1800's were sold out. The highway stores only got a couple anyway, as "loss leaders". Same answer from the local chain saw store, so I... more

Toro 1800 Power Curve Electric 18" 15 Amp Snow Blower
The first time I used my new snow blower we only had about 1" of snow. Worked just fine. It was light dry snow. The next time it snowed, the snow was heavy wet snow and was about 4- 6" deep when I tried the blower. Because the snow was so heavy and so wet and packed as soon as you walked on it, it was a little more difficult to remove. But, I have to say, I was very pleasantly surprised at how good a job this electric snow blower tackled the deep heavy snow. Because we live in a... more

Second Unit Of This Model Owed
I bought used unit and used it for 8 years to do walks decks and occasional flat roof.
Only issue with it was keeping the electric cord out of the auger, performed without issue sometimes several hours of continuous use.
This summer it was destroyed by a fire.
New unit arrived looks exactly like the original looking forward to having it for at least 10-15 years.
No reason to change an excellent product.

Good Snowblower
I live in Kansas, and this is a good snow blower for the amount of snow we receive. I have a large curved driveway that could park 7-8 cars in it. This snow blower has no problem clearing our driveway. If the snow is really wet and heavy, the chute may clog but is easy to unclog.

Crazy About This Snowthrower
I have back problems and little arm strength due to an injury. I am 65 yrs old and 5 foot 3. This machine is easy for me to maneuver. The only drawback is to get to one area of my yard to the front yard I have to go across some lawn areas.

It chews up the grass a little. It arrived the day before Thanksgiving when we got 6 inches of heavy snow (2014). Took 15 minutes to assemble and off I went clearing a path to my detached garage and walkways for my arriving guests.

Very Satisfied But Cord An Inconvenience
This Toro gets high marks for ease of use and throwing snow. The power is a surprise! It is nice not having to purchase and store gas, oil, etc. No fumes. A bit quieter than combustion engine, too. Drawback is the limitations of using a cord.

In the end, this might be the best choice for a smaller driveway or sidewalks with straightforward, easy access. Big properties, long twisty ornamental sidewalks? You might struggle.

Shipping was quick and easy, and price on this site very... more

Great For Decks Too!
Purchased this because the fumes from the gas powered snow blower made my wife sick. We wanted a snow blower that would handle snow at least 10 inches, even though where we live doesn't get that very often. I was concerned about an electric unit being powerful enough to remove snow. Well, I was wrong this unit is lightweight enough for my wife to handle and gets the job done for us. The fact that it works well on our wooden deck was a bonus before we had to struggle with a shovel. Good product,... more

A Pleasant Surprise!
Update Two: So, the other day I looked out at our rear balconies (2nd floor) and realized there was close to two feet of snow/ice on each and that much weight might become a problem. Chipping and shoveling it would have ended with me in traction. It occurred to me that I could carry the Toro up our stairs (without threat of murder by my wife) and that it would be able to maneuver in the small spaces. It worked! I couldn't clear all of it on one pass, but by going over the same area a few times... more

Works Well Cord A Nuisance
Slight assembly was easy. Like not storing fuel. Do not like need to avoid cord which constrains the patterns possible for removing the snow.

Like that it's light weight, easy to maneuver. Find I need to back up and begin each swath of clearing from the same end so as to avoid the cord.

Also, find that it leaves a thin layer of snow if wet and stuck to cement.

Other than that, it is a nice machine. I haven't decided whether I should have gone for a gasoline model. The trade-off,... more

I purchased this to replace a 16" Toro 2-stroke I've used for over 10 years. It still runs, but is difficult to start.

After I evaluated how I use my 2-stroke, I realized 95% of what I used it for was within 50 feet of electrical outlets on my property.

I made the switch to electric and couldn't be happier. This unit has almost as much power. But, it's the light weight and no more cold start-ups that seal the deal.

The snowblower was easy to set up when we received it. We had the first snow of the season and a chance to use the Toro. Unfortunately it was very wet and heavy. I love this machine. I thought it being electric it was going to be a dud. I thought wrong. We have had three storms all within a few weeks and it plowed through them all. I even took it up on my pitched roof (I don't recommend that of course) and it took all the snow off. I highly suggest anyone on the cusp of buying it to give it a try. You wont be disappointed. I bought one of these in the Spring of 2011, vowing to make clearing my driveway easier. I am a physically fit 77-year-old, but a rotator cuff problem is aggravated when I have to shovel stuff.

The snowblower of my husband is an ancient, enormous, smoke-coughing, gas powered "He-man" machine. I was given a "lesson" on how to operate this monstrosity by plugging it in (to power the starter), taught how to regulate the choke, and how to drive it. Of course, the choke didn't work for me, and I didn't have the strength to pull the cord. Worse, I could barely push it. The lesson was a disaster.

Good, Belt Issue
For all those that have had the belt issue similar to what I've read in several posts, the fix to the belt falling off is to simply tighten up the main rotor axle. Note it is reverse threaded (left to tighten). After doing this the 1800 works fine once again.

I down rated the 1800 to 4 stars for two reasons, (a) should not have to figure this out myself it should be in the manual, since it appears to be a common issue given the commentary from other owners (b) I'm sure there's some... more

First Snow A Real Test....
Finally got to see what the 1800 will do with 4-5 inches of very wet heavy snow. Using it on a large deck and
sidewalk, it seemed to put it to its limit but cleared the first path.

After that, smaller bites made the task easier. The 1800 got the job done, and I can see it will handle the light fluffy snow very well. Certainly beats shoveling, but not for the big jobs. Recommend.

Toro 1800
I have used this in 10 inches of snow. It has the power to move snow quickly and clean to the surface.
The dislikes are the on/off switches are very awkward and the plastic part of the handle seems weak
over all a much better unit than others I have used

Husband Loves His New Toy
I bought this for my husband back in early January. When it arrived my husband was all excited to put it together and give it a try. No snow till early February. He said great now I can use my new blower. He was all bundle up and ready to go. It wouldn't stay started. How disappointed he was. Make a long story short, he checked it out the next day and found he had the handle upside down. He switched it the right way and out he went. He was all smiles. It ran beautifully. Hard To Tell
Since it's too early for snow where I am, there's no way to properly evaluate this product. I do have the much smaller Toro Electric Shovel, which is of a similar design to this product. That small blower worked well enough when snowfall was light.

I bought this larger model because we had one heavy snowfall last year that left me snowed in for about a week. This should work for me. I'm an urban dweller with a driveway that's 75-100 feet from garage to street. If yours is longer, you... more

Great Blower
I bought this for my sister as she was trying to shovel her driveway after work. I bought one 3 yrs ago and love it. She lives upstate NY and I'm in the mountains of CO and we both get lots of snow. It shoots the snow easily 20-30 ft easily and I'm done in 15 min. It doesn't like over 12", so I'll blow it twice if I know we're in for a big storm. The blower is lightweight enough for me to pick up and blow the back deck as well. I highly recommend the Toro blower.

I looked for the best and think I found it. Handles the light snow perfectly, I have a 24" Cub Cadet for the real heavy stuff and a plow on my 4 wheeler but so far I like the Toro most. I guess just because it is so light and easy to use, I am not worn out as I have been in the past.

Toro 1800 Problems
I used this machine once and the chute turn locked up. Got it going again and the auger won't turn, therefore I'm not getting any snow in the the blower. There was a horrible smell like the motor was burning up. I used to be a repairman and fixed all kinds of electric and pneumatic tools and appliances.

Four Seasons So Far Of Excellent Service
I live in Montpelier, VT and when I moved to town after living in the boonies I brought a Gilson Brothers 8HP snowblower with me. That machine had 5 forward speeds and 2 reverse in two speed ranges and it was all of 6 feet long. It was overkill for the job at hand and I had to get rid of it. I used a large pusher scoop and hand shovels which used to take 3 to 4 hours to clean the driveway out. It now takes less than 30 minutes with the Toro Powercurve 1800 model # 38025.

It is remarkable... more

Toro 1800 Electric Snow Blower Is Just Great
I've never been able to pull the string to start gasoline engines so was shopping for something easy to use.

This is a great machine! In NE Ohio we have had a very snowy winter so far. I used this snowblower on 8" of snow in my drive and it handled with ease, blew it farther than I thought possible for a smaller machine and let me clean my double wide 55 ft concrete drive in a half hour.

Real Back Saver
I've only used it twice, but what a back and time saver. A job that would take me an hour or more to do (depending on how wet the snow) I was able to complete in 15 to 20 min. My back and heart both appreciated it. I was kind of speptical as to what kind of job it would do since the blades are made of pastic, but it did a wonderful job. I wish it had come with some type of attachment to raise the bottom so you can do gravel driveway and walkway, so I made one. Just adding an 12 in. plate raises... more

Belt Came Off Right Away
The belt came off on mine right away and was damaged so I had to get a new belt. Toro sent that to me which took about 10 days.

The new belt would just come off as soon as I turned it on as well. After getting pretty frustrated with it multiple times, I took the idler spring off of the belt tensioner so that it was not keeping tension on the belt and now it works OK.

I don't know why, but the tension on the belt was causing the belt to slip off of the pulley. Something must not be... more

This is the second Toro I have purchased, The first one lasted 12 years. Buying through Snow Blowers Direct was a real pleasure. Their price was cheaper than Amazon's. More importantly, I ordered the snow blower on Monday in late afternoon, and it was delivered to the house on Thursday morning.

Love It!
The snow blower arrived the next day! I took it out and did the 4 1/2 inches left in my driveway that had crusted over and it did an amazing job. Next snow lasted 2 days so I went out with it twice. It was a heavy/wet snow - still did great. Oh yeah, it was a breeze to put together.

I did have to wonder a tad over the guides for the cord, but finally figured out that there are holes on the handle especially for them to fit into. All in all, it's been great!

Almost Great Snowblower
I live in Maine and we are getting a lot of snow this year - another 16" today. I purchased this snow blower to use on a large deck and until now it has proved the perfect solution for the deck ( we have 6 dogs and need to clear the deck so they can get to the fenced back yard!).

It has had no problem throwing snow the 15+ feet to and over the railing of the deck. Even with some fairly heavy snow it worked fine as long as I took it slowly. For the light fluffy stuff (7F today) it is... more

Really Like Our New Snow Blower
Our new Toro electric snow blower is working great for us. Its light weight and reliable. My only concern is that all brands of electric snow blowers are a heavy duty plastic. This is not a problem if you keep that in mind and take care of it. I would not let my child use this as I know she will push it into solid things as if it's a Sherman Tank. (By the way we don't let her use plastic snow shovels either.) I will say that we liked this so much that I also bought the 15" Toro for... more

I live in Michigan and need to clear a double wide driveway, sidewalk and large rear patio. This one clears snow as well as the gas Toros and have done up to around 10" of snow. The light weight is a huge benefit as it can be hung on a hook in the garage, carried around with one hand and can be brought through the house to clear my rear patio without making a mess like a big gas one. Using this to replace a very old Gilson gas thrower. Using a cord takes some getting used to. The "plastic" blade worries me as to if it will last. It does not get down to "bare" concrete but it does throw a significant distance. It is no mess like filling with gas was and it is easy to store so that is a big plus. We get a lot of snow in Erie, PA and some times all at once. And the snow removal city trucks come flying up the street and throw large, chunky-packed snow and with effort I managed to get through it. The rest was easy. Even With Snow Blowers, Patience Is A Noble Virtue
I had a sneaking hunch that we would see some snow this winter. I decided, therefore, to research the available Snow Blowers from a performance aspect, as well as economy. Upstate New York Believer
This machine is the greatest! I love the fact that I don't have to use gasoline or mix anything. Just plug in and off you go. The time I save and wear and tear on my body makes this the best purchase I have made this winter. It has been put to the test several times and I have been 100 percent thrilled with the results.

Great Buy
I wanted a small snow thrower to clean up after my plow guy. This Toro1800 is the perfect machine for my needs. Light weight yet quite powerful for its size. Handles snow up to 6-8 inches easily and can do deeper but it takes a little slower going to get through it. I would recommend this machine for light snow removal.

Fantastic Product
Bought for my sister to clear our 80-year-old dad's pathways in snowy MA. She never operated any power equipment prior. It's lightweight, powerful, and has no pin to shear. Clears a foot deep plus snow, ice, clumps etc no problem.

Sounds and operates like a vacuum cleaner. Good safety features. Easy to assemble in 5 mins... just a handle and the auger direction control.

Works Great On Driveway
Good performance on the paved driveway. It was adequate on the grass (to create a path around the house), but the unevenness of the ground did not give as good of results as on the asphalt.

Exactly What We Were Looking For
We purchased the Toro 1800 as a replacement to physical therapists, chiropractors, etc. In other words, replace shoveling our outdoor decks. It's light weight but strong enough to plow through 10" of new powder or 5-6" of heavy snow and throw it far enough away to not pile up on the deck below. We have some tough winters in Crested Butte, but so far through 4 early storms this winter with a combined 4 feet of snow it is working great.

Our First Snowfall
I have used a gas 2 cycle snow blower for many years and it was in need of major repair. I looked at a variety of choices including corded electric and battery powered as well as 4 cycle gas. I chose the Toro 1800.

This past week I used it on the first snow fall of the year. I was surprised at its ability to throw the snow and its low noise level. I disconnected the cord a couple of times but I will get a cord-lock to keep the two extension cords together.

It is much lighter than the... more

It's What I Wanted
Ordered this snow blower on November 13th, only a couple of light snows before a pretty good one Feb-14. 9-10 inches of typical Southern Appalachian Mtn. snow - not exceedingly wet but not powder. In my driveway, I hit it twice, each time when snow was 4-5 inches deep. No problems, just be sure to know which way the wind is blowing and where the cord is. In my Mother-In-Law's driveway, I didn't get to it until the storm was finished. Easy 10". But I cut back to only take 1/2 the... more

So Far So Good
I live in New England and we typically get a decent amount of snow. I live in a private community and although a company is supposed to plow and clear our walkways/driveways it often takes them too long to get the job done and they only take care of the areas once per storm. I ordered the Toro 1800 to clear in front of our garage, patios and walkways. Since receiving the Toro we have had two minor storms with one storm leaving 6-8 inches of light snow. The Toro worked really well and I had... more

Something For The Deck.
We needed a snow blower to clear a large deck that had just been added to the house.

The Toro came within a week, was easily setup and on the job immediately.

It has enough power to handle four inches of wet stuff and really likes to throw the dry snow.

Good investment for the price. Peter Dodge

It's An Electric- The Good And The Limitations
I bought an electric because I have a short (60 ft), level driveway, and in theory I don't need a snow blower at all. I live in a contract maintenance community where the snow is supposed to be shoveled for us. That was one of my motivations to buy there- I have been shoveling snow for almost 50 years and I am tired of it. This year the community bungled the contract, so there was street plowing but no drive and sidewalk shoveling. After shoveling 6 or 8 times in December and January I was... more

We have had 3 major storms so far this year and this Toro works great. We have a photo studio that I use this to clear 6" to 10" of snow in the 6 car customer parking lot.

The Best Thing I Purchased In 2010
After our first 8 inch snowfall of Fall 2010 I knew I couldn't live through another winter of my husband moaning and groaning about having to shovel our patio & deck area after each snowfall.

I wanted to surprise him with this Toro 1800 Power Curve Electric 15-Amp Snow Blower for Christmas but knowing that another snow storm was in the works I ordered it online in early December and it arrived about 5 days later. I have a huge gas powered snow blower which is too difficult for me to handle, and after having it repaired last year and dying out right after, I gave up on snow blowers, until I read a review on the Toro 1800 Power Curve.

It was meant for me to purchase this snow blower, because, right after getting it home, the snow started. My son put it together within 10 mins., and it was ready to go. It was really lightweight and easy to handle and did a splendid job. It's not as powerful as the... more

Central Missouri doesn't get a lot of snow, but when it does, look out. It's never the light powder snow, it always heavy, wet and just plain nasty stuff that makes shoveling a pain.

Very lightweight, easy to use. I didn't want some cumbersome huge thing to have to deal with. All I have to do is plug it in and I'm ready to go. I love it.

It does a great job - it really throws the snow. I don't think its the snow blower for someone with a big area to clear, but I have a one car wide drive and about a car and half long and I'm really happy with it!

Very happy with Snow Blowers Direct too! Very prompt delivery!!

Great Snow Blower
This purchase was a replacement for one of the same. We'd had it for years and it finally got too tired to go any further.

This one, though basically the same, has some differences that are definitely improvements. The direction of the shoot is more secure when placed and the handle is better. Thank you so much for the improvements.

I'm sure we will enjoy this one for years as we did the old one.

Good Blower, Trouble With Switch
The electric model 1800 works very nice in dry light snow. Does a nice job.

The switch is a nightmare and who designed it should go a rather learn how to BLOW snow!!

The slightest pressure holding the on/off switch down causes the blower to stop and then BOTH hand need to be used to get it going again. Just plain stupid and totally user unfriendly!

After our first 24" shoveled snow in December, we ordered this snow thrower after reviewing a zillion feedbacks.

1800 Power Curve
I bought this 1800 Power Curve for my parents in Maryland, where, in 2010, they were getting hammered again and again by heavy snow. I'd previously borrowed my neighbor's identical model during a storm and been impressed, but the unit my parents got was awful.

The belts slipped off within ten minutes of using it the first time, 2-5-10, so their 200-foot driveway was hand-shoveled to clear the 31" inches of snow that eventually accumulated. Out to the repair shop went the machine,... more

Toro 1800 Was Excellent
I purchased my Toro after a rare 16-inch snow in mid-December. Here in tidewater Virginia, snow is not that common and is rarely more than four to six inches. This is why I purchased an electric model and not a gas model.

Saturday, we had 14 inches! The Toro was excellent. It cleared my large driveway, my walkway and my deck. I'll never be without a snow blower again!

I recommend this model.

My Very Sad, Disapointed Story
My Toro was not able to handle the 'heavy' quality of snow we have her in MA near the ocean. I got 15 minutes of use and it burned out. Just up and died! Not a scratch. Looked pristine.

After a long conversation with Toro, they said I could package it up and mail it to them for a replacement (yuh, right!) or get it in my little car and take it to a local Toro dealer to have it fixed (again, yuh right!)

I put it out on the side of the road for the trash man. No one even bothered to steal... more

Received the Snow Blower just in time for the last snow. I was very happy with the way it handled and the noise was very minimal. I could hear my neighbor's gas blower very clearly.

It is light and very easy to handle. The only thing is that the cord gets in the way and you are always moving the cord out of the way to get to the snow. You need two people. One to handle and use the snow blower and the other to work the cord. Good machine.

Happy With My Purchase!
I had looked at several electric snow blowers before purchasing this unit. I almost bought another model, but after reading the reviews, I decided on the Toro.

I had a very old Toro 14" Snow Pup that served me well for a long time. I just couldn't get parts for it any more. I have only used this twice, but it has done what I needed it to do.....save wear and tear on my back. I'm happy at this time with my purchase.

Beats Shoveling Snow!
We've been getting snow roughly 3 times a week this winter. We have a gas snow blower, but it's too heavy and intimidating for me to operate. This little workhorse allows me to clean close to the cars and do the walkways around the house while my husband tackles our large driveway.

It cuts his snow clearing time in half. The Toro tosses snow as advertised, about 25 feet. It's easy to use and lightweight. Assembly is simple.

Good Cheap Blower
Good price from snowblowersdirect.com. Came quickly. Very simple assembly. Just make sure you set up the handle and route the cord correctly or it won't fit. I've used it three times. First, fluffy snow on ice, very smooth. Second time wouldn't start! Brought it inside for a few minutes, worked fine. Third time ran into a few rocks on my dirt driveway, but not too bad. They say only to use it on paved surfaces but my driveway wasn't too bad. If you have Blue stone you'll probably be throwing... more

Great Purchase
I received your shipment in record time in good condition. The blower arrived about three days before we were hit with a blizzard of 29 inches of snow.

Naturally I did not expect it, or any other blower, except big commercial ones, to handle those deep drifts in one application, but with a little effort and preliminary shoveling the machine handled the remainder very well and I was quite satisfied with it.

I did not have any problem getting tangled with the extension cord - just a... more

Good Power Shovel
Works as advertised. If you get on it right away, it throws the snow well. Getting used to the cord is a little annoying, but once you get the hang of it, it is okay. Not meant to do an entire driveway.

Well worth the investment and sure beats shoveling.

My Toro
I was able to first use my Toro snowblower in the recent storm where we got 8-10" of drifted snow. It performed well, the snow was fairly dry.

I would be a little concerned if the the snow was wetter as the snow tended to hang at the bottom of the chute a bit. I also had a bit of a problem starting and stopping with the safety switch (maybe it was me).

Overall I am satisfied with it so far, and the ease of purchase and timely delivery. Also, I didn't receive a purchase receipt.

It Works Great
Light weight, very easy to assemble, had it up and running within 30 minutes. It's lightness is the only problem, as it doesn't have the oomph of my old Toro 2-speed gas blower--but don't need it in our new house with flat walkways and driveways. My wife finds it easy to use, too.

Highly recommend it!

Great First Impression
I bought the blower Friday night and used it Saturday morning with 3 inches on the ground. Easy to handle, good throw distance, quiet, easy start, no gas smell, no maintenance to speak of. I'm very pleased.

My wife never liked handling our 8 horsepower gas blower. She has back problems that prevent her from shoveling. She loved the ease of use of the 1800 and was impressed with how readily it moved the snow.

My only suggestion is that I wish the chute had a longer crank so that I... more

A Back Saver
I purchased the Toro 1800 several years ago, and it's still ticking.

Live on Long Island, NY and have had several heavy snow storms.

My advice is to take a smaller amount of snow, about 12 the opening and it is unbelievable. It throws the snow further than my old gas blower (6.5 HP) and even though it was self propelled, my back felt it after and during snow removal.

This 1800 is lightweight and durable, a real back saver. Just use WD40 on the unit were applicable, watch the power... more

Got This One Just In Time
I bought this snow blower 2 months ago and we finally got to use it yesterday.

This is smaller than our gas snow blower but I wanted something I could use easier than the bigger one my husband uses.

It worked very well during the storm. Of course, I had to be wary of high drifts and go a little slower than with the big one, but we cleaned the driveway fine with it.

I think it was worth the money and am happy with it

So far in upper New York state we only had one storm to to test the snow blower.

My neighbors and I are looking for a new snowblower as our gas one is too heavy for some of us to manage. I just want to say that Mahlon Norton's review is delightful. My husband wants to know what vitamins he is taking! That was quite an experience. What an interesting person.

The Toro has been very handy, I have used it several times on snows from 4 inches to 12 inches clearing 3 driveways, two sidewalks, and a flat roof.

I like the light weight so I can easily carry it around. The cords can be a problem but I have figured out how to lay the cords out so they are not in the way.

Snow Blower Needs Two People To Put Together
This snow blower needs two people to put it together. This should be mentioned in the ad and marketing. Also, Snow Blowers Direct gave no help about attaching the top tubing into the bottom tubing.

You need two people because the bottom part must be compressed together at the same time pushing the top part into the bottom part. If you live alone, you hate to impose on your neighbors to help put this together. My neighbors said they thought it was awful how difficult it was putting... more

Right Year To Buy The Right Snowblower
With two feet of snow in December and early January (unusual for the Kansas City area), this was the right year to finally buy a snowblower.

And, I'm very happy with my new Toro. While my neighbors were still shoveling, I was warm and toasty back inside after a half hour.

This little baby chewed through even the two foot or more drifts. A new gas powered model might have been easier to handle this year without the power cord of this electric, but I reminded myself what it might be... more

I Love My Toro Snowblower
I love my snow blower. I got it in December and it sure has worked well for me.

I went away for three days and when I got back it was a lot more work getting the snow removed. We got 6 inches and there was ice under the snow so it was hard pushing.

But all in all I love the snow blower.

Powerful Motor For Weight And Size
I ordered the Toro 1800. It was delivered in two days, and the delivery man walked up the hill with the box.

I assembled it immediately, and took it out for a spin. Although the instruction manual states not to use it on gravel, all one has to do is lift it a bit (easy, because it is light) and it removes the majority of the snow.

My only complaint is the 3-1/2 inch hard plastic wheels only move straight, and makes it very difficult to maneuver on uneven spaces.

It's a great little... more

Doesn't Work Well For Me
Massachusetts has been hit with a LOT of snow this month (or week really). I am exhausted from shoveling my driveway (about 150 feet long) almost daily and decided to get a snow blower, but I was a bit intimidated by the large gas machines so I bought this one.

It throws the snow well but it was a lot of work to push it through my somewhat uneven driveway (some cracks and ice build-up from previous snowfall while we were away). I struggled to clear the driveway with it. And I am novice snow... more

Difficult To Keep Running
I don't know if it's operator training or something in the "deadman" switch in the handle, but the machine keeps stopping - irrespective of whether it's moving snow or not. Then I have to fiddle around and pretty soon it starts again.

I'm hoping this condition will improve, because I really like the way it operates. I've got a big daddy Toro two-stage gas blower for the really heavy snowfalls, but this one works fine for the usual three and four inch snowfalls we get here in... more
