| Snow Blowers Direct Recommendation |
| By Snow Blowers Direct |
The Toro Power Max 38624W snow blower is an industry favorite that's been around long enough to develop a track record for reliable performance. Categorized as a “prosumer” model, this two-stage snow blower is designed for fast and easy pick-up of moderate to heavy snowfalls. Average-size driveways in suburbia can be cleared quickly and easily. Long-term satisfaction with this model ranks high -- much more so than with the smaller single-stage models.
Toro's Power Max 38624W has much more power and is far more versatile and easy to use than a smaller machine. This model will throw snow up to 45’ and can clear up to 1900 lbs. per minute (depending on snow conditions). You will also be impressed with the joystick control for adjusting the chute.
The Power Max® auger system is a breakthrough in snow throwing technology – allowing you handle more snow in less time to get the job done fast! This revolutionary system meters snow intake. Snow that is not immediately thrown is returned back into the auger. The non-stick surface minimizes snow build up.
This machine is a good choice for a gravel driveway, and like all two-stage models, has an auger that never touches the driveway. This means stones will not be picked up and thrown about. Remember, we recommend using tire chains on a gravel or dirt driveway or walkway to help prevent the tires from “spinning out” since this is a wheel-propelled unit.
If you live in an area where snowfall is frequently exceeds 6 to 8 inches, or your get occasional heavy, wet snow, the Toro Power Max 38624W is likely all the snow blower you'll ever need.

| SNOWBLOWER GREAT!! SB Direct GREAT!! DIRECTIONS- VERY VERY BAD.. |
| By X (Freehold, NJ) |
This is my first snow blower ever. It arrived ahead of schedule and I was so excited I wrote a review before we used it. I shoveled as the snow blower was used today in our 2 feet of fresh snow.
It was extremely hard to push and we were shocked to think that something that is 222 pounds was not self propelled. We even checked the trunion thinking it was not installed correctly (per the directions on traction).
Still I watched as he turned several shades of red pushing the snowblower up and down the driveway as well as the walk (angrily, I might add).
Once we were done with most of the driveway (3 excruciatingly awful hours later) we were ready to sell our brand new Toro on EBay until we read Colin's review: THE COTTER PINS ARE NOT INSTALLED WHEN IT IS DELIVERED.
Colin writes-"The fix was simple - the unit is shipped with cotter pins installed through each axle but not through the wheel hubs. Simple reassembly cured the problem, but why is it not mentioned in the manual?"
SNOWBLOWERS DIRECT, please put in a special pamphlet in a BRIGHT COLOR warning new users to install the cotter pins before use. If you have always had machinery like this, it might be a no brainer, but if you have never used something like this before, how would you know?
SBD RESPONDS: We are working with Toro to solve this problem; instead of opening every box to add a piece of paper we think a brightly colored sticker might work better. Thank you for your input! |

| Dry snow, wet snow |
| By Eric (Huntingtown, MD) |
The snow thrower works great, easy to handle and to direct exhaust, However, if there is slush under the snow , the auger will get stuffed-up.
After cleaning the auger & exhaust out, I sprayed all working surfaces with Pam ( cooking oil) That seemed to Keep slush from sticking to the auger, exhaust & scoop.
Other then that, it is a joy to operate- much better than the ol' Shovel. |

| Initial Problem |
| By Colin Bowness (Weston, MA) |
After carefully following the manual's set up instructions the machine started immediately BUT would not drive in any gear!
The local dealer I contacted offered to pick up the unit - at my cost - in order to diagnose the problem.
I had to resort to a Google search where I immediately found others had experienced the same frustrating problem.
The fix was simple - the unit is shipped with cotter pins installed through each axle but not through the wheel hubs. Simple reassembly cured the problem, but why is it not mentioned in the manual?
This is a solid axle machine - no differential or wheel clutches - so it is very difficult to turn. In hindsight I should have bought the more expensive, and larger, Toro 828 or another make altogether. |

| So excited to get to use this |
| By X (Freehold, NJ) |
The snow blower arrived very quickly and delivery was easy. It looks so great in the garage and we cannot wait for the next big snow to use it.
The first 2 feet of snow we got this year we called our landscaper and it turned out they had the same snow blower we had just ordered (and were eagerly waiting).
They love theirs and said it is dependable, cut right through the snow, and very easy to use. I watched as it took them under 10 minutes to do our entire sidewalk. The tires are very thick and it looks professional and durable. |

| Just in time |
| By Nancy Hopper (Two Harbors, MN) |
My partner is from Oklahoma and had never even seen, let alone used a snowblower.
We got ours from my son in law and I decided to do something nice and buy him the shield. The site was easy to use and the product shipped right away.
When we got it everything was there and the instructions were easy. He put it together just in time.
Then the snow came, and came, and is still coming. He has used it quite a few times and every time says thank goodness for the shield.
So, I also thank you. I think He likes Minnesota even blowing snow. |

| BRING ON THE SNOW!!! |
| By john (Castle Rock, CO) |
I live in Colorado and this monster will eat 26" of snow with no problem.
It has an easy electric start and plenty of power forward and reverse.
I ran over a Sunday paper and it shredded up like confetti.
I love the joy stick it has to turn the chute in any direction in a second. Also with the plastic chute, it never gets clogged.
This snow blower is amazing. You must get one!!! |

| Can't wait 'til it snows |
| By Karen (Fairfiled, ID) |
Our new Toro Powermax 8260 arrived today- a day ahead of schedule!
My husband unpacked it, then sat in a lawn chair for an hour, admiring it from all angles.
We live in Central Idaho, in the foothills of the Sawtooth Mountains. We get over 100 inches of snowfall a year- winters can be a nightmare!
For the 1st time, my husband said today "I can't wait till it snows!"
Thank you, Snow Blowers Direct! |

| Toro 826OE vs. 828OEX |
| By Jon Hoch, Founder (Bolingbrook, IL) |
The Toro Power Max 826OE is nearly identical to the 828OEX version with two major exceptions.
First, it features a smaller 26" vs. 28" auger.
Secondly, it DOESN'T INCLUDE handle-mounted triggers. You must physically turn and pivot the snow blower at the end of the driveway.
To learn more, check out this video from Toro. Once you watch the video, you'll want the more expensive Toro Power Max 828OEX instead. |
