You’ve probably already experienced this when checking out at a department store.
The clerk offers you a chance to save a certain percentage on your purchase if you apply for a store credit card. You want the deal, so you fill out a credit card application at the counter.
A few days later you receive a credit card sponsored by the store and financed through a bank.
Our Power Equipment Card from GE Money is very similar with a few improvements. First, you complete the application from the comfort of your own home without backing up the line. Your application is approved or declined while you’re checking out online.
Secondly, instead of a percentage discount, we offer no payments six months and no interest if your purchase is paid in full in 6 months*. Basically, you can buy a snow blower in April and not make a single payment until next September.
In simple terms, you’re applying for a new credit card instead of using a current one. You’re being rewarded with a nice incentive to apply. As with any promotion, always read the fine print first.
