Product Q&A

Product Questions Answered by Jake, the Snow Blower Expert
are skid shoes for a Ariens Delux 30 recomended for using on a blacktop driveway? Are they hard to put on? exactly where do they go? As you can tell this is my first snow blower any help would be appreciated Thank you

All snow blowers for the most part are going to come with skid shoes. You would not want to use a snow blower without skid shoes as you would damage the auger housing of the snow blower.

This being said, the skid shoes shown in the picture are a non-abrasive skid shoe. This would be used typically in situations where people have paver drives or stamped decorative concrete. Otherwise the skid shoes standard on most snow blowers is going to be steel, which is more than ok to use on a asphalt drive.

These are very easy to put on as they are held by two bolts typically and you can adjust the height as well. These would sit at the bottom of the auger housing or bucket of the snow blower and think of them as a guide.
