  1 Question
Q: Is this a can that I can keep gas stored in
like for a year or two

by Linda from Arizona on March 16, 2011

A: Thanks for your inquiry. You should never use old gas on your smal engines. They will greatly effect the performace. If you do store gas for long periods of time make sure you use some type of fuel stabilizer.

Not A Good Product
This is a cheaply made product that does not meet my expectations for quality. On top of that, it came with a hole in the side, making it unusable. The service rep I spoke with was very courteous and helpful in giving me a credit for this item.
Pros: Light Weight
Cons: Difficult To Use, Low Quality

"This seems to be a great product by making it usable with both gasoline and propane, but I have not used it except for the break-in period. It is quiet enough, but I wish it actually had a fuel cut-off valve like the manual states. A few other items are a little confusing when reading the manual."

Disappointing Product
This product was a great disappointment. I could not get the spout to work properly. I just took the cap off and used a funnel. The whole idea of this can was not having to use a funnel.
Pros: Light Weight, Durable
Cons: Difficult To Use, Bad Instructions

Not Sure About This One
Product has "safety" features the ratchet piece for locking the cap in place really only prevents the cap from twisting off and is a pain, especially for me and the wife. I cut it off. It is totally unnecessary. What surprised us is how tight the cap needs to be to prevent leaking of the gas. I had to use a channel lock wrench to tighten it very hard. Only then did it work.
Pros: Durable, Features, Price, Light Weight
Cons: Difficult To Use, Low Quality

This Thing Sucks!!!
I could not get this to work. I followed the directions on the side of the can and when I pressed on it to release the gas, it fell apart...the spout sprung out of the sleeve and I couldn't put it back together.
Cons: Difficult To Use, Low Quality, Bad Instructions, Expensive

There Must Be A Better Way
All of these "safety" gas cans have one common feature...they are awful! As another reviewer stated, you need three hands to operate it. I have yet to fill my generator without slopping a bunch of gas around.

I am contemplating purchasing a 15-gallon "gas caddy" and getting rid of all of these ineffective 5-gallon loser cans.
Pros: Durable
Cons: Difficult To Use

Not Good
It blows up like a beach ball in the sun and tips over, and everytime you take the top off to fill up the o ring slips out of place so when it tips over it leaks. After only about 6 uses the nozzle busted off and ended up inside my fourwheeler tank.

Bad Law Causes Bad Spouts.
I HAVE USED MANY OF THE NEW SAFETY SPOUT GAS CANS INCLUDING THIS ONE. They are all too difficult to use to be safe. You need three hands to operate them, and they break after only a few uses.

Too bad regulations force companies to make this crap. A little care and common sense with the old regular pour spouts was safer than these new contraptions.

Leaky Mess
Congrats to the Fed Government on requiring leakproof cans - these are horrible - they leak, are difficult to use, and the spring mechanism breaks very quickly.
Recommend you go to a tag sale and get a used gas can.
Cons: Difficult To Use, Unreliable

Briggs Gas Can
Congratulations Briggs on taking something as simple as a gas can and nozzle and turning it into another disposable piece of garbage.
