Q: I was researching the cub cadet snow blowers on cub cadets site, and found they offer what is called an HD version. The snow blower you have listed here is not the HD version, is that correct? And if this is not the HD version, do you have the HD version for purchase?
by Chris D. from Kentucky on September 19, 2015

A: Chris - the Cub Cadet 3526SWE we are selling is the standard model. The "HD" version of this snow blower can only be purchased from a local Cub Cadet dealer.
by Robert, Product Expert

Q: Is the 3526SWE made in the USA?
by Bernie Durfee from New York on September 19, 2015

A: Bernie - yes, the Cub Cadet 3526SWE is made in the U.S.
by Robert, Product Expert

Q: How difficult is it to assemble?
by Wayne K. from New Jersey on August 08, 2015

A: This is about as easy as it comes. After the unit is out of the crate. The handle bars need to be pulled into their upright position, tighten down the bolts/wingnuts and then attach the chute and chute rod and you are in business. These units come with oil already in them (Always check, just in case), add fuel and you are good to go.
by Robert, Product Expert

Q: Does this machine have shear pins for the auger and third stage?
by Bob Bartelson from Massachusetts on December 03, 2014

A: Bob - yes, the Cub Cadet 3526SWE uses the same OEM-738-04124 shear pins as the Cub Cadet two-stage models do: shear pins
by Robert, Product Expert

Q: Is this machine at least 10 horse power to handle heavy wet snow
by Reg from New Hampshire on November 28, 2014

A: Reg - there is no true conversion from cc's to HP. But the 357cc engine in the Cub Cadet 3526SWE is roughly equal to 11 HP
by Robert, Product Expert

Q: Who makes this engine.? Is it made in the United States?
by Mark from Missouri on October 26, 2014

A: Mark - Cub Cadet builds their own engines. They are manufactured in China.
by Robert, Product Expert

Q: I JUST PURCHASED A 3 STAGE 26" CUB CADET SNOW BLOWER AND WANT TO KNOW IF CUB CADET MAKES CHAINS FOR IT MY DRIVE IS QUITE STEEP.
by JOHN JOPPIE from Michigan on October 21, 2014

A: John - the Cub Cadet 3526SWE has a 15" x 5" tire. We sell a set of Toro #107-3813 tire chains that will work just fine on a Cub Cadet if you need chains: tire chains
by Robert, Product Expert

Q: The Specs indicate it comes with heated hand grips. Is this a change from last season?
by Mike from New York on September 13, 2014

A: Mike - yes, Cub Cadet added heated hand grips as a standard feature on this years 3X models
by Robert, Product Expert

Q: Do these drift cutters work with Cub Cadet (26") 357cc Three-Stage Snow Blower or do they already come with this machine?
by Kim Marino from Colorado on December 12, 2013

A: Kim - you are correct. The Cub Cadet 26" three-stage model would use the OEM-390-679 drift cutters. The three-stage models do not come with drift cutters.
by Robert, Product Expert

Q: What is better steel or polymer chute with wet snow?
by Don Bachman from Michigan on November 23, 2013

A: Don - you will find people who like steel and people who like polymer when it comes to dealing with wet snow. My preference is for the polymer chute when dealing with wet snow, but either way, you'll most likely need to treat the discharge chute with a non-stick spray to fully prevent wet snow from sticking inside the discharge chute.
by Robert, Product Expert

Q: Bob,

How will this machine perform on an unpaved drive?

by Al Openshaw from Minnesota on November 09, 2013

A: Hello Al,

The Cub Cadet (26") 357cc Three-Stage Snow Blower is designed to clear the heaviest of snow on even unpaved surfaces. As you lower the skid shoes, it will raise the auger so that you are not forcing rocks through the impeller as well.

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Thank you and have a great day!

Product Review Cub Cadet 3 Stage 26" Snow Blower 3526swe Power E
I purchased this Snow Blower because the last two winters have had above average snowfall in my area. I knew the basics of what I wanted but was not entirely sure what to buy. While doing some online research I cam across the Power Equipment Direct website and really liked the information provided.

The reviews were very helpful and I liked the variety in the selection. I knew I wanted to buy a good quality machine that would last for many years and came from a brand that would be around... more

"The Website was very easy to navigate and provided a lot of very useful information on the different machines. I enjoyed being able to read a lot of the reviews to help me on my decision. Shipping went very smooth also and the shipping company stayed in contact with me so I would know exactly when the snow blower would arrive. I was very impressed with how much communication was provided during the process."

Product Expert
Karl,
Contact Cub Cadet for warranty repairs. They can help get you up and running via a local authorized service center. If you continue to have trouble, give us a call. These snow blowers are generally very easy to start and operate, so something should be able to be done.

Manufacturer Response
Brand Rep
Karl,
If you are having trouble starting your 3X 26" the most common cause is the use of stale fuel. Fuel can go bad in as little as 30 days, and the use of stale fuel in your snow thrower can cause engine starting problems. When you replace with fresh fuel, always make sure it contains less than 10% ethanol. The use of stabilizer, such Sta-Bil®, is also very important. Please let us know if you have any additional questions! Thanks.

I'm Ready
I received my unit today on-time.... My thoughts are below:

1. Excellent packing from the manufacture. No damage.

2. Directions are a bit tough for the setup. But no major concerns.

3. Great build quality.

4. Started up right away.

5. Average size unit. Not massive.

6. I would highly recommend PED!

Looking forward to not shoveling snow this year......

Nice Snow Blower
This is a good review on the Cub Cadet Snowblower. I had read most of the reviews on Snow Blowers Direct and felt comfortable ordering the blower. Then I went on Amazon and was horrified by the terrible reviews. At this time as you would guess, I was a little apprehensive and wondering how things would turn out.

On the bad reviews, I had read that this model chewed up sheer pins and that the directional chute was not good. I was also concerned that I had possibly bought too big of a model... more

First Time Utilized
The expected snow in NJ was not anywhere near the predicated amounts. Regardless the Blower is very easy to utilize and the power steering is a welcome addition.

-Very Powerful
-End Of Driveway Snow is not a challenge
-Heated hand grips are only of value if you have on non-insulated gloves.
-Hard to start without the electric starter
-Exit Chute is tricky until you can comfortable.

Nice Experience
My purchase from Snow Blowers Direct was a nice experience. The machine was exactly what I expected, it arrived when I was told to expect it, and the minor assembly was easy.

In addition, since the packaging was slightly damaged, the shipping company spent extra time to ensure that everything inside was undamaged before they left.

It's A B+ Machine
Just bought the CC 3X 26 in February 2017 and I've only used it once in a good sized Massachusetts snow storm of 12" to 14". So far I give it a B+ and here's why. First it's fast (in forward only) and throws snow as advertised - a good 30 to 40 feet depending on the water content of the snow. Love the power steering, and the engine seems quieter than most. But it doesn't get an A because of three things. 1. Reverse is BRUTAL. I have no idea why they've engineered it this slow? If it's... more

It's A Great Snowblower
SBD didn't tell me that they were selling me last year's model, I got screwed, the next day my neighbor bought the same unit from the cub cadet for the same price but he got the 2017 model. The 2017 model has a metal chute and a crank handle to direct which way you want the snow to go .The 2016 has a handle with a button to release the direction off the chute. VERY HARD TO PUSH BAD DESIGN
Pros: High Quality
Cons: Expensive, Difficult To Use

Gets The Job Done
My old 2 stage track blower gave up the ghost at the worst possible time, we live at top of the Sierras by Donner Summit and have had over 325" of snow so far this year. This blower really can move some snow, and has good traction for a wheel drive. It was almost ready to go out of the box and started on the second pull, even at our altitude (7800').

The gear ratios feel good and it maneuvers well. My only gripe would be that though it throws the snow a mile when its governed up in the... more

Excellent Snow Blower - High Quality - Plenty Of Power
The snow blower started easily with both the electric start and the manual start.

Chute directional trigger button is a little stiff, but works well. Power steering reliable. Even my 5 foot 1 inch wife can use the machine with ease. The 3 stage auger system works very efficiently and does not bog down under load.

The 6 speeds forward are great for those 2 inch snowfalls and the 8 inch snow falls. The only thing I see is the handle vertical heights would need a little more adjustment for... more
