Troy-bilt Squall 2100 Single-stage – Review
Well, well, it finally snowed here in Chicago. We have had no snow until now. We got 6″, time to test out the Troy-Bilt Squall 2100 that you can get at Lowes. The 2100 is a single stage snow thrower which is good for smaller drives and light to moderate snow fall. The main feature that we liked was the 208cc 4 cycle motor, no more smoke and having to mix oil. The blower clears a respectable 21″ path and even has drift cutters to slice through drifts. It comes mostly... more

Don't Buy This Snowblower
Do not buy this snowblower! While I am sure this will be fine if you have to clear a perfectly flat sidewalk of less than 6 inches of light, fluffy snow, this blower is useless in real world use. First, it is auger assist drive which is supposed to use the auger blades to help propel the snowblower forward.

However, you have to lift up on the handles while trying to push the snowblower forward at the same time to get the augers to engage the pavement. Regardless, one the auger wear a little... more
Cons: Low Quality, Expensive, Can't blow anything but light fluffy snow.

Don't Buy It
Don't but this one! I live east of Cleveland Ohio on the edge of the snow belt, so I'm no stranger to snow removal. If the snow is even a little sticky, it packs the wheels so they don't turn.

If you want aerobic exercise, you'll get it. The Squall 2100 takes nearly as much effort to push with the wheels caked, as it does to shovel. At the end of this snow storm, I'm going to replace the wheels.
Cons: Difficult To Use

Great Hrower
Easy to handle, operate and start.

Follow through starting instructions and it fires up with one pull or touch of the starter.

Seems to be light probably due to it being perfectly balanced, grab the handle and it feels like nothing is there. Awesome

To turn the chute, just reach down below the handle and turn the lever. Reaching or leaning to turn the chute.

Oh yeah it cleans down to the pavement and throws the snow great. Really satisfied. Bought this due to a very bad back and l... more
