  5 Questions
Q: Is it regular gas or mix
by Orlando Vela from Illinois on November 20, 2015

A: Orlando - all of the gas-powered snow blowers we sell have 4-cycle engines. Gas goes in the fuel tank and oil goes in the crankcase - same as in your car. No mixing. You would use regular grade 87 octane gas with no more than a 10% ethanol content.

Q: Is there a fuel shut off on this model 6212QZR
by Brian from Pennsylvania on September 18, 2015

A: Brian - the Toro model 38458 does not have a fuel shut off
by Robert, Product Expert

Q: Is the model 621 qzr self propelled? If not is it easy to push? Will it work for 10 in snow and wet heavy snows

by Kevin Shelton from Missouri on February 02, 2014

A: Kevin - the Toro 38458 has a Power Propel System - which keeps the auger paddles in constant contact with the pavement. The rotation of the auger paddles help pull the snow blower forward when they are engaged. The wheels themselves are not powered in any way. This unit will most likely struggles to move 10 inches of wet, heavy snow. 6 to 8 inches is probably the max this model would handle effectively.

Q: what assembly is required on this
by Richard from Minnesota on October 19, 2013

A: Richard,

You will attach the chute and the handlebars. Everything else is assembled. It is an easy assembly that shouldn't take more than 15-20 minutes.

I attached the owners manual that covers assembly on page 5 and 6.

Thank you for your question and please keep us in mind for all of your power equipment needs.

Q: CAN THE TORO 621 QZE MODEL38459
FIT IN THE BACK OF A SUV LIKE THE HONDA
PILOT OR JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE?

by Anonymous from New York on August 15, 2011

A: If you fold down the upper handle, any of the Toro single stage snow blowers will fit in the back of an SUV. The upper handle is easily folder down by simply loosening a knob on either side of the handle.

Toro Brand Not What It Once Was
I purchased the Toro Power Clear 621 QZR two years ago. I was impressed with the reviews here on this website. My main motivations for buying this were: reputation of Toro brand, powerful single stage system that allowed me to store easily in my small garage, and the guaranteed to start feature. I would not buy this brand again, but if I did, I would certainly get the electric start.

The machine ran fine in my first winter. I only used it two times due to mild winter. In my second... more

Toro 163cc - With Electric Start
I had a great Toro single stage snowblower from 1996 and gave it to my son-in-law. I then purchased a new unit with electric start. I have had nothing but trouble even after the starter was replaced... then the carburetor replaced.

The West Chester Lawn & Garden authorized repair dealer said they fixed the elec. start. It worked 1 time them froze up with a screeching sound when I started it approx. 2 days later They then said it was out of warranty... totally disappointed in Toro...... more

Great Service, Great Snow Blower
The 15 year old hand-me-down snow blower had seen its last winter and after shopping around the Toro 621 QZT seemed like the best blower out there for the money. I have a three car driveway and the quick shoot feature works great at reducing the time I have to spend turning the chute side to side.

Like all my Toro products, it starts on the first or second pull so I opted to save some money and skip the electric start version. We have limited snow so far this year in Ohio so I haven't really... more

Flawless Blow Job
This is the second Toro Power Clear snow blower I have purchased. It's the second because the first, a 421 which I purchased 3 years ago, after a small minor recall, performed so well I decided to get one for another property I manage. They both start consistently on the first pull and get the job done quickly. A great plus with the 4 stroke models is that you don't smell like exhaust fumes when you are done. Both were purchased through Snow Blowers Direct and the purchase and delivery was... more

Did My Research
I just got the Toro 621QZR and it snowed the next day. (that never happens) I love my new toy. It is so easy to use, starts on the second pull as advertised. It does a great job and is SO MUCH better than a snow shovel. I decided to go with the single stage after learning that a two stage doesn't clean all the way to the pavement like the single stage. I had a previously fallen 22 inch pile of snow next to a wall at the edge of the driveway and the Toro cut right through it and threw it... more

Toro Customer Service Is Sub Par
Bought my snow blower back in October and after using it four times, the pull start recoil broke on the fifth use. Brought the snow blower into a Toro service shop, the part is on back order for the past three weeks. Service shop can't get a clear answer from Toro as to when they will have the part, so I called Toro and the response I received was we don't know when the part will be available and a comment that I should have bought the snow blower online. I would highly recommend Snow... more

Reliable Fast Snow Blower
We bought this snow blower during the snowstorms of 2014/ Chiberia. We live in Chicago and had a course of 50 inches of snow throughout winter. This snow blower was extremely reliable. It cleaned about fifty yards around the house. We are very satisfied with our purchase.
Pros: Easy To Use, Durable, Price, High Quality
Cons: Very Noisy

Very Efficient And Easy To Use
Light weight but surprised how efficiently it cleared and blew snow the was 8" deep and also wet snow. Did not clog the chute but rather blew it away at a good distance.
Pros: Easy To Use, High Quality, I'd Buy It Again, Durable
Cons: Have None

Featherweight Workhorse During The Blizzard Of 16'
Purchased this unit in in September 2015 and just got the opportunity to use it this weekend during the "Blizzard of 2016". I tested the unit it advance and added a good fuel stabilizer. Started on first pull and ran flawlessly, for well over six hours (as recommended changed oil on the fly after first two hours) for both my 35 yard+ driveway and walkways and my neighbors.

Was concerned with the size (due to where we live in Pennsylvania got around 32 inches of snow) and I thought... more

All-time November Snowfall - No Problem!
2 weeks ago, we received biggest 48 hour November snowfall of all time. 9.9 inches of wettest snow possible. Bottom 2 inches more slush than snow. Notwithstanding, my new Toro, in its first use, cleaned my drive to a bare surface. I absolutely love the Zip control on chute. Great distance control of throw with easy adjust.

Low sound level under full load deceptive of muscular power. I did not get with electric start. Manual pull start performed per claimed ease. After this initial... more

Just Buy It
So... we live in New York and for 25 years we have not had a snowblower. Since all the kids are off to college I knew I had a good Christmas gift idea this year! The first storm this year my husband walked in after doing our property and the neighbors and kissed me and said it was the best gift ever. Starts on first pull. Clears all the way to pavement and throws plenty far for our needs and we have a long driveway. So easy to use!
Pros: Easy To Use, I'd Buy It Again, Light Weight, Exceeded Expectations

"I never thought of buying a snowblower on line, but all of the help and Q&A made it so easy to pick one and no tax and free shipping made it a no brainer. I was a little nervous about putting it together because my husband is not the mechanical type, so I knew I would be the one assembling. It was very very easy... just the handle and the shoot."
