Jeremy - you are correct. You plug the starter cord into any standard household outlet. Once the snow blower is started, you unplug the cord from the electric start module before using the snow blower.

Is it regular gas or mix
Orlando Vela
from Illinois
November 20, 2015
Answer
Orlando - all of the gas-powered snow blowers we sell have 4-cycle engines. Gas goes in the fuel tank and oil goes in the crankcase - same as in your car. No mixing. You would use regular grade 87 octane gas with no more than a 10% ethanol content.

Is this Snow Blower "Self-Propelled?
Carol
from New York
October 10, 2014
Answer
Carol - a Toro 38473 is not self-propelled. This model does have an auger assisted drive system. The front auger paddles will help pull the snow blower forward when they are engaged. There would no "assistance" for backing up or going in reverse however.

Does this Toro 38473 have a rechargeable battery for starting the engine?
Sarah Shade
from Indiana
August 10, 2014
Answer
Sarah - there is no battery on the Toro 38473. The electric start would require you to use an extension cord plugged into the electric start module, which is then unplugged once the unit has been started.
