  2 Questions
Q: Is it regular gas or mix
by Orlando Vela from Illinois on November 20, 2015

A: Orlando - all of the gas-powered snow blowers we sell have 4-cycle engines. Gas goes in the fuel tank and oil goes in the crankcase - same as in your car. No mixing. You would use regular grade 87 octane gas with no more than a 10% ethanol content.
by Robert, Product Expert
Q: Is this Snow Blower "Self-Propelled?
by Carol from New York on October 10, 2014

A: Carol - a Toro 38473 is not self-propelled. This model does have an auger assisted drive system. The front auger paddles will help pull the snow blower forward when they are engaged. There would no "assistance" for backing up or going in reverse however.

Snow Is Blown!
Been shoveling snow for nearly 18 years since I moved to Colorado. My first house in Aurora was on a corner lot with lots of sidewalk to cover. (Being from southern California how much snow I would have to shovel was not taken into consideration when I bought the house in the summer.) Moved to the new house 4 years ago with a much bigger driveway and have been lifting snow there too.

This year I finally decided that I was done. WAY done. Did a little research (with the help of Snow Blowers... more

Looks Great... Lasted 15 Mins
Bought this snowblower a week ago... packaging was good, easy to assemble... looked great and seemed to function fine. Finally got some snow last night and tried it out. Made it 15 mins before the wheel fell off and tipped over. With this failure, it ended up breaking off the snow chute and the top shroud assembly.

Now getting the run-around by my local dealers as this was an "on-line" purchase. Even though I clearly explained the situation, no one wants to touch it. Very... more

Todd,
If you're still having difficulty getting service on this snow blower, feel free to give us a call and we'll help expedite the process. The manufacturer does warranty it, and local authorized service locations should service it under warranty. Regardless whether you bought this online or in-store, the warranty is the same.

Great Smaller Snowblower
I bought this snowblower yesterday. Used it to clear my 3 car driveway of about 6-8" of fluffy snow. It's smaller and single stage but that may be its best trait - it's not huge and cumbersome! Nicely cleans down to the concrete as well. It also managed to chew through the end of the driveway where the plow dropped extra snow - just about a foot deep. Very impressed with how easy it is to start and maneuver and the chute control is excellent. We'll see over time how durable it is.

Toro Power Clear 721 Qze, Toro And Brandon Anderson Owner Honest
I bought the Toro Power Clear 721 QZE online from Snow Blowers Direct to save money. I figured it is brand new what could go wrong. The Toro Power Clear 721 QZE arrived in 3 days, went together in 5 minutes. It wouldn't start. I took it to Honest Engines, 643 South St, Lincoln, NE 68502. Owner Brandon Anderson took my Toro Power Clear 721 QZE that I did not buy from him and put me at the top of the list for repairs. Within 8 days Mr. Anderson had a new ignition module from Toro and had filed... more

Good Power, clears Snow Down To The Pavement. But Falling Apart.
The zip chute assembly has a metal pin that retains the parts of this assembly. It is located horizontally by the chute adjustment handle. This pin is held in place by friction caused by a spring that locks the chute in a selected position.

There should be something to keep this pin in place other than spring tension.Single stage snow blowers tend to create significant vibration due to the rubber paddles striking the pavements.

This problem should have been discovered in basic product... more

Looks Good, Hasn't Snowed Yet, Had A Problem With Deflector Hing
Everything looked good when it arrived. Easily removed from box and required very little to set it up. Waited until it has gotten a little colder before I started it up. After I started it up I rotated the shoot all the way to one side and then moved the deflector up and down to make sure it was working. The Snow Thrower was sitting on a small incline and when I depressed the deflector lever the "Hinge Pin" slipped out from the Chute Control Assemble and when I released the... more

Awesome Machine
Arrived within days especially considering the distance and no freight damage. Assembled in twenty minutes including gas and oil. Blower started right up as Toro promised. This blower is so fast and easy to use I do our five neighbors houses. Really blows the snow, easy to manage and maneuver, great for women. The quick chute is a must and really saves time, wouldn't even consider the manually operated model. My on line y complaint is I wish the chute would adjust a few more degrees.

First Impressions
I bought this in October so there's no snow expected for a month or two. But I can tell you how it has gone so far. The shipment was very fast. There was zero damage to the outer box or anything inside. No manual is included so I downloaded one from the internet. The instructions were very clear. Just fill with oil to the full level. Poured gas in it. It started with a pull or two following the instructions. Very smooth running and quieter than my old 2-cycle of an older similar model. I ran it... more
