  1 Question
Q: Is it regular gas or mix
by Orlando Vela from Illinois on November 20, 2015

A: Orlando - all of the gas-powered snow blowers we sell have 4-cycle engines. Gas goes in the fuel tank and oil goes in the crankcase - same as in your car. No mixing. You would use regular grade 87 octane gas with no more than a 10% ethanol content.

Started Right Up
Our new 928 sat around after purchase for a few months waiting for snow. It gave us plenty of time to read the manual and other advice from online snowblower forums and go through the assembly and maintenance steps in the set-up guide.

When we finally got a little under four inches of snow, our impatience got the best of us and we gassed it up and tried it out, even though it would probably have been better to wait for a bigger storm. The 928 seems like overkill for just four inches. It... more

"This snowblower had an advertised special of an included extension power cord, but the manufacturer had run out. The customer service agent at SBD substituted this with another, even better extension cord for me at no extra charge. Way cool! The estimated arrival date didn't include the time after the main freight carrier handed the shipment off to a secondary carrier so it arrived significantly later than expected. This wasn't a big problem because I ordered long before our first snowfall."

Powershift Replacement
over all build is normal toro. BEAST!! it is a bigger machine then the 1997 824 powershift i retired. in height and length, assembly took me about 2 hours going over it all . installing the handle, adjusting the cables, setting the skid heights.

lots of nice features ,standard head lamp, heated grips, fast shoot adjustment, starts fast, feels lighter when moving around. the motor is smooth and low in noise, but made in CHINA!!!

Great Machine
I finally was able to try this unit out and promised in my previous review I would return after that. It did a great job throwing slush from a messy ice/snow storm, and my only problem was getting traction with the tires when I approached the sidewalk where the plows had been. I did not order chains for the tires though so I will chalk it up to my fault. Still a great machine.
Pros: Easy To Use, High Quality, Quiet, Exceeded Expectations
Cons: None

Very Good Snow Blower
Works great. Could throw wet snow farther. I have not been out of second gear, that may improve distance, but that is as fast as I want to walk. Dry snow it throws 20' at least. I have only been in 8" snow at best so far. Seems like it will handle it. One pull, and it starts. Ice hasn't jammed it up or sheered any pins. Hasn't stalled or bogged down on snow plow stuff. I like it.
Pros: Easy To Use, Fast, High Quality, Easy To Store
Cons: Expensive

Awesome!
I ordered this machine to replace my original Toro. I cannot believe the sound difference between the two machines. My 20-year-old Toro is much louder than this one.

The features on the new one reduced the time it takes to clear my driveway. The power steering really helps in tight areas. The joystick chute control is easy to use, once you get used to it. The only thing that I wish they had done is put a switch for the headlight. The headlight is on all the time.

The machine starts real... more

A Beast
This machine is a beast. I have had a toro for 20 years, but the HD 928 is a BEAST and the Ferrari of snow blowers.

Heated Hand grips, LED Light and amazing power and easy to use.

I know this BEAST will last me another 20 years

Expensive, but worth it... You get what you pay for.

Worth Every Penny
Unfortunately, I did not purchase from Power Equipment Direct, as they had none left when my old Craftsman needed repair & I could no longer get the needed parts for repair in January 2 years ago. Paid $200 more than this advertised price from local dealer, but this snow thrower is amazing.

Cut the time to clear my 155 ft long driveway in HALF! winters here on Long Island blow hot & cold, past 3 years a snowblower has been a nescessity for a large driveway area. P/S option greatly... more

Great Product!
This has been a great snowblower. My husband has used it this winter. So easy to start and use. We purchased the $50 liftgate help to get it off the truck and the guy helped us move it up the driveway. Great experience and we will use Power Equipment Direct again!

Impressive Unit!
I had a 23 year old Toro 724 that I handed down to my son-in-law and then purchased the new 928 online. Shipping was swift and ordering was a breeze.

The 928 is physically larger than I expected bit that's okay since I have two large driveways to clear. I love all the newer features like the joystick for chute functions.

Most of all I like the power steering triggers which allows me to easily push or pull the unit when the engine is off, and also allows for easy steering in deep snow by... more
