POWER EQUIPMENT DIRECT "READY, SET, SNOW" CONTEST
OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES

CONTEST DATES: November 2^nd, 2020 - November 16^th, 2020

 

1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN

No purchase is necessary to enter or win. Making a purchase does not increase your chances of winning. The Contest is open to legal residents of the United States and District of Columbia, who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry and have a valid email account. Void in Puerto Rico, Alaska, Hawaii, the U.S. Virgin Islands, U.S. Military installations in foreign countries, and where prohibited by law. All federal, state, and local regulations apply. Void where prohibited by law.

2. CONTEST OVERVIEW

Enter the READY, SET, SNOW Contest by submitting your e-mail address for a chance to win $500 toward the purchase of a new snow blower or any one (1) product sold by Power Equipment Direct or its niche stores. See details below. 

 

3. SPONSOR

The Contest is sponsored by Power Equipment Direct, Inc., 969 Veterans Pkwy, Suite C, Bolingbrook, IL. 60490 (the "Sponsor"). 

 

4. CONTEST DATES

The Contest begins on November 2nd, 2020, at 9:00 a.m. CST and ends on November 16th, 2020, at 11:59 p.m. CST, (the "Contest Period"). The website server is the official clock for this Contest.

 

5. TO ENTER

Enter the READY, SET, SNOW Contest, sponsored by Power Equipment Direct, at https://www.snowblowersdirect.com/giveawaycontest and submit your email address.

 

To be eligible, participants must submit a valid email address. One email per person only. No purchase necessary to enter or win. The Contest is open to legal residents of the United States and District of Columbia, who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry and have a valid email account. Void in Puerto Rico, Alaska, Hawaii, the U.S. Virgin Islands, U.S. Military installations in foreign countries, and where prohibited by law. Eligibility will be based on entering the contest before it ends. All entries will be added to the pool of Participants at the end of the Contest from which the winners will be randomly selected.

 

All required information must be provided for the entry to be considered accurate and complete.  

All entries become the exclusive property of Power Equipment Direct and will not be returned. You understand that by submitting an entry you are: (1) accepting the terms of these Official Rules and agreeing to be bound by them; and (2) you are opting-in to receive e-mail from Power Equipment Direct, Inc.  All e-mail related to the contest will contain opt-out instructions.

 

6. CONTEST WINNER SELECTION

One (1) First-Place winner will be selected among all eligible Entries received by 11:59 p.m. CST on the last day of the Contest Period (November 16th, 2020). The winners will be selected randomly from the pool of participants that have entered the contest. The Contest judges will have the sole right to decide all matters and disputes arising from this Contest, and their decisions with respect to the Contest shall be final and binding in all respects. Odds of winning the Contest depend on the number of eligible entries received.

 

7. PUBLICATION

Entrant understands and agrees his/her contest submission may receive exposure on Sponsor's website, one of Sponsor's network sites and/or other social websites, platforms, and media as Sponsor determines in its sole discretion and may be subjected to comments and popularity ratings from the public at large. Sponsor is not responsible in any manner for any critical or derogatory remarks posted by the public pertaining to an entrant.

 

8. DECISIONS AND RULE AMENDMENTS

Sponsor's decisions regarding all Contest matters are final and non-appealable. All submissions are subject to these Official Rules and all entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and Sponsor's decisions. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to amend these Official Rules at any time and Sponsor will post the revised rules on Sponsor's website. The Official Rules in effect at whatever time the Entry is judged will apply.

 

9. LOST OR INCOMPLETE ENTRIES; WEBSITE

Sponsor is not responsible for Internet system and hardware failures; delayed, incomplete or unsuccessful transmission of email address or entry information; technical malfunctions of any kind; human error; information loss and downtime; or any costs, losses, liability, or damages resulting from any such failures. In the event of any such technical difficulty, malfunction or error, Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to take such actions as it deems appropriate in keeping with the fairness and integrity of the Contest, including without limitation a determination to take no action.

 

10. ELIGIBILITY

The Contest is open to legal residents of the United States and District of Columbia, who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry and have a valid email account. Void in Puerto Rico, Alaska, Hawaii, the U.S. Virgin Islands, U.S. Military installations in foreign countries, and where prohibited by law.

Employees of Power Equipment Direct, Inc., each of its respective parent, subsidiary, vendors, and affiliated companies and anyone involved in the production or administration of the Contest, as well as the immediate family/same household members of any of the foregoing individuals, are not eligible to enter or to win any prizes. "Immediate family members" shall mean parents, step-parents, children, step-children, grandchildren, step-grandchildren, siblings, step-siblings, or spouses, regardless of where they live. "Household members" shall mean people who share the same residence at least three (3) non-consecutive months a year, whether related or not.

 

11. PRIZES AND VALUES

• 1st Place Grand Prize: (1 winner) $500 voucher to be used for One (1) whole item from any PED store.* 

*Grand Prize: One (1) piece of power equipment valued up to $500. If the total amount is below $500 any difference between the cost of the equipment and $500 will be forfeited and will not be subject to additional compensation. Store credit only, no cash payout.

 

12. NOTIFICATION

The winner of the READY, SET, SNOW! Contest Prize will be notified by Sponsor via email. The prize will be awarded to the entrant up to 10 business days after the winning contestant has been chosen, provided the entrant certifies and establishes to Sponsor's satisfaction that the entrant is the owner of the email address, provides a shipping address, and further provided that the entrant has complied with the Official Rules and any other forms as determined by Sponsor. If a prize is not claimed within 10 business days, the prize will be forfeited. 

 

13. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY

By submitting an Entry, each entrant agrees to release, discharge, defend and hold harmless Power Equipment Direct, Inc. and each of its respective parent, subsidiary and affiliated companies and each of its respective licensees, assigns, officers, directors, employees, members, partners, agents, and representatives, from and against any claim, expense or liability arising from or related to submission, exhibition or exploitation of the Entry or participation in this Contest, including his/her acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize or any portion thereof, or technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to the malfunctioning of any cable, accessories, hardware, or software.

Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any individual it finds has tampered with the entry process or the operation of the Contest, or who has acted in violation of these Official Rules or any applicable state, federal, or local laws or regulations, or is acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY A  CONTESTANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR AND ITS AGENTS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO PROSECUTE SUCH PERSON AND/OR SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULL EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. 

 

14. LIABILITY FOR TAXES

ALL FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL TAXES THAT MAY APPLY FROM THE PRIZE ARE THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PRIZE WINNER.   

 

15. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION

All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation, and enforceability of the Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of entrant and Sponsor in connection with the Contest, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Illinois. Each entrant consents and agrees to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the federal and state courts of the State of Illinois, located in Will County. 

 

16. GENERAL CONDITIONS

If the Contest is not capable of running as planned for any reason, including without limitation, due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Contest, Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who is responsible or who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, modify, or terminate the Contest. If the Contest is terminated, Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to not award any Prize or Prizes.
